I was set to travel via Turkish Airlines almost a year ago today on a trip booked through OOJO.com. 4 days before I was set to travel, I realized that my return flight had been changed to over 24 hours later (so I was set to return January 30 and they changed my return ticket to the same time on January 31) without my permission or without any notification from Turkish Airlines. When I notified OOJO, they said they hadn't changed anything on their end, so I contacted Turkish Airlines and they said that they didn't make any change, that I was set to depart on the 31st. When I sent the confirmation with the 30th listed, they said that it was OOJO that did it and they couldn't put me back on my original flight, even though it was still in operation. Because I was leaving in a few days, I had to quickly purchase a separate one way return ticket for my original date, since I could not return on the 31st, at double what my original ticket cost. When I filed a complaint with OOJO (since I had booked through them), they were helpful but it took 9 months for them to investigate and find out that Turkish Airlines had overbooked my original flight and involuntarily bumped me, then lied about it. I did get my unused ticket portion refunded, but I was out over $1,000 from the additional ticket I was forced to secure. When I had all the information, I complained to Turkish Airlines citing their passenger rights and the ********** of **************** rules and regulations, they dismissed me and when I followed up they flat out refused, even though this was completely their fault and I was involuntarily bumped, never notified, lied to, and gotten horrible customer service from ever since. I am trying to exercise my passenger rights and just get the ticket I was forced to buy due to THEIR error and overbooking reimbursed.

On 12/12/2023, my husband and I (***************************/*********************) requested to purchase an upgrade from economy to business class on the flight from ***** to ****** and from ****** to *** (Ref# ******). We were instructed to only purchase the first upgrade from ***** (flight TK630) and purchase the second leg (flight TK289) upgrade once we arrive in ****** to honor the $912.86 upgrade fee paid in *****; total for both upgrades should have equal $1,824 for both flights (party of 2). The flight was very late leaving ***** due to security issues causing us to miss the connecting flight from Turkish to *** (flight TK289). Therefore, we had to purchase an upgrade on a later fight (5 hours difference) causing the fee to be more expensive (changing from a morning flight to afternoon). We had to pay $2,617.26 instead of the $912.86. We spoke with 6 different agents and a manager explaining the issue, asking them to honor the earlier flight upgrade promotion, considering we missed the flight due the airplane arriving late - no would accommodate the request - stating, they could not update the computer to honor the original fee. I even explained the medical issue that occurred in *****, causing me the need to fly business in order to avoid my sickness getting worse. I was instructed to open an urgent feedback case on 12/12, still no response/resolution. Due to the inconvenience and added stress, I am requesting a full reimbursement for flight TK289 upgrade fee in the amount of $2,617.26. Thank you for your assistance.

On January 15th, ****, Turkish Airlines unexpectedly canceled my pre-booked flights from *********** (***) to *************) and onward to ************). This left me scrambling to purchase a new ticket at the last minute, costing me 469 ******* Dinar (approximately $1,527.19).Their reason for the cancellation stemmed from my previous travel itinerary on December 31st, 2023. I had flown from ******* to ******** with the intention of proceeding to ******, but due to a **** not received from the *************** ******** of ********* I rerouted my journey to ******* instead. Unfortunately, this apparently violated Turkish Airlines' terms and conditions, resulting in the cancellation of my subsequent flights.

I am writing to file a complaint against Turkish Airlines for their services on 11 Nov 2023, for which I paid $3025.72. Turkish Airlines provided misleading **** information on their website [*******************************************************************************************************************************************************************.], which I visited in Nov 2023. It stated that the ***** tourist **** allows for "90 days per visit" within a year. Relying on this, I booked a flight, only to be denied entry because the **** permits only 90 days in total per year, a fact I was unaware of due to the incorrect information. After being denied entry, Turkish Airlines and ***** authorities unilaterally changed my return flight scheduled for January 10, ****, to December 19, 2023, without my consent. This caused a significant inconvenience and additional financial burden, as I had not planned for an early return. In addition to the above, my baggage was significantly delayed, and the airline staff's handling of the situation was dismissive and unhelpful, leading to further distress.I have attempted to resolve this matter directly with Turkish Airlines, but the responses have been unsatisfactory and dismissive. Consequently, I am turning to the BBB for assistance in obtaining a refund for the unauthorized flight change and appropriate compensation for the misinformation provided on the **** regulations and the substandard service I experienced.Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.

Dear BBB,I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against Turkish Airlines due to the unsatisfactory handling of a luggage delay issue during my recent trip. Despite numerous attempts to resolve the matter through their system, the compensation offered for the inconvenience caused falls significantly short of the incurred expenses and hardships faced.During my work trip, my suitcase was delayed for three days, resulting in considerable inconvenience. Turkish Airlines offered a mere compensation of 350 USD, which does not begin to cover the expenses I had to bear. I was compelled to purchase new clothes at exorbitant prices in ******* to attend crucial meetings and events, incurring substantial financial and emotional strain. The lack of adequate information regarding the status of my suitcase and the absence of assurances about reimbursement forced me into additional expenses without any guarantee of recovery. Traveling business class was a deliberate choice precisely to avoid such complications, making this experience even more disappointing. The luggage delay caused immense anxiety and stress, jeopardizing my attendance at critical meetings and events, which could potentially affect my professional reputation and career progression.I am requesting Turkish Airlines to provide full reimbursement of $1117.49 for the expenses incurred on new clothing, as substantiated by attached receipts. Furthermore, I seek compensation for the taxi services necessitated by the inconvenience. The Property Irregularity Report provided no clear information on the entitled compensation during such delays, exacerbating the situation. The documentation related to the trip is enclosed for your reference.I sincerely hope for a reconsideration of their offer to provide fair and adequate compensation, reflective of the hardships endured.I trust that the BBB will assist in addressing this issue promptly and fairly.Sincerely,-*******

As mentioned in my complaint to BBB, the only communication I have received from Turkish Airlines thus far is an offer of $350 for the incurred expenses. I have approached BBB to seek assistance in gaining traction towards resolving this issue. If not successful, I request BBB to inform future customers about what to expect from Turkish Airlines in the event of baggage delay and how they will be treated when claiming expenses.

I am a Turkish airline member having flown five times with the airline. I love traveling to ******** and always look forward to my flights with Turkish Airlines. Today, I was placed under a level of inconsistent scrutiny at check in today and then forced to check my carry on which incurred an absurd cost in fees. At the counter one female employee who gave excellent service, let me know my checked bags were slightly over and let me repack to meet the requirements. When I returned after repacking I was directed to another employee (male) who I mentioned my previous conversation to but the male employee asked me to go through a very different weighing procedure and made me take everything off. Ive never had an airline do this. He said my backpack was overweight and so I had to check my carry on and had no other choice. He made me check my carry on and told me that my bags were over the checked bag limit (of course they were I had never planned to check my carry on) he was going to charge me over $300 for checking it. That was 1/2 the cost of my flight ticket. I even threw out gifts and books I had bought for my relatives outside of ***** because that fee he quoted me was so astoundingly expensive. I noticed he did not ask the person in front of me who had a huge backpack and a large duffel bag if he could weigh their backpack. Being forced to pay nearly a third the cost of my flight ticket in luggage (plus the loss of having to throw away gifts on the spot) was an incredibly frustrating and outrageous way to ************* with Turkish airlines. Ive never had this experience with any other airline before and its not consistent with my previous experiences with Turkish airlines. I now doubt I will fly with Turkish airlines again unless this refund for that checked baggage fee is resolved. I am also thinking about canceling my membership. I ended up paying an extra $197.23 in baggage feed which Id like refunded.

On 12/16/23 I contacted Turkish Airlines to confirm my ticked for Dec, 31 (U 4 F A 8 R), I spoke to the agent name ***********************. He told me that in order to confirm my flight I have to make a seat reservation otherwise my ticket will be canceled, then he went to give me a price code of $70, he stayed on the phone while he was obtaining the verification from my credit ************* once he received the verification he gave me the seat number 9J from NY to ******** and from ******** to ******* 9D, from ****** to ******** 6D and from ******** to NY 7J. After this conversation, I received alert from **************** that I was charged $280 by Turkish Airlines for seat reservation. upon receiving this , I contacted a local travel agency to verify seat reservation requirement. the local agent informed me that I was scammed and THER IS NO NEED FOR SUCH RESERVATION, once I get to the airport and gave my luggeges they will gave me the Borrding pass along with seat Number. upon receiving this info. I contacted Turkish Airlines on 12/28/23, I was told to complete the Feed back form and there is nothing else they can do. in short I am asking for full amount of $280 that I was FRAUDULENTLY charged, as seat reservation story and cancellation of ticket ABSOLUTELY was not true.Your assistance on this matter greatly appreciated Respectfully yours,************************* ************

My family and I flew back to ***************** via Turkish Airlines on July 7, 2023. Three of our luggages were not delivered when we landed. On July 10, 2023, the three luggages were left outside under the rain. The luggages were damaged and some items were damaged. I opened a claim with Turkish Airlines (AKA Turk Hava Yollari) through their baggage claim website. After providing documentation including a void check copy, on October 3, 2023, my claim was approved and I was notified that I will be paid $174 or $147 (I can't remember the exact amount because all communication is cleared after I initiate a new message in their baggage claim system). I reached out through their baggage claim system at least once a month and I received generic answers to my request every time. I have not received any check in the mail or any direct deposit from Turkish Airlines. It has been almost four months that I hear "A check will be sent to your address as soon as possible."
