I am being taken advantage of by this organization(if it's even one). I joined with the goal of becoming a paid writer and they let me join in order for me to work on certain writing assignments. I had only worked on one and never received a follow-up response on any type of feedback for it, so I never received payment for it. After awhile of becoming a member I had decided to not be a part of their organization anymore as I felt I wasn't going anywhere with it. I had kindly asked them to cancel my ********************* account. It looked like they did at first only to re-open it again, against my authorization. They then took the $4.99 out of my ****** account. Then, I reached out to them again and sent an email about this, telling them to cancel my account and refund me. They sent another email saying they would, but there was no verification of this and there still isn't. This recent going back and forth just happened this month. After this current email, I waited again, but there was no response. I decided to change my payment method to a card with no funds inside, so they wouldn't be able to keep taking money out. Then on 11/14, they sent me an email to my ********************* account(which I thought they had closed a long time ago) with another payment of $4.99 against my authorization using my credit card through my bank. Now, I had no idea how they got access to my credit card information. I had threatened to report them to the BBB, responding to both emails from both accounts. Please see the attachments with the unauthorized charges on Paypal(10/29 and 11/11) as well as through my ********************* email account on 11/14. Please review this and make them pay me my money back as well as shut down my accounts for good.Customer Answer

The complainant was free to cancel their subscription at any time and was provided with instructions for doing so. We can confirm that the complainant's subscription is now canceled. The complainant's claim that we had any type unauthorized access to sensitive financial information is demonstrably false. The complainant created their subscription with ******, and ****** automatically utilizes whichever payment methods the user has set up within their ****** account in order to make necessary payments for any subscriptions or billing. Since the complainant added a credit card to their ****** account, ****** automatically used this payment method in order to pay their outstanding balance. At no point do we have access to any of this financial information since everything is done through ******.Customer Answer

With all due respect, what the complainant has stated is not physically possible. The only possible way that the complainant could have set up any free trial and/or paid membership, would have been by agreeing to the payment terms on our website as well as an additional second time on PayPal's own website. Furthermore, the complainant would have had to actively complete a signup process on PayPal's website, providing their information in order to activate any subscription. We can confirm that any charge applied to the complainant's account was valid, not eligible for any refund, and that the complainant's account has now been cancelled. The images provided by the complainant as part of their complaint in no way serve to substantiate any of the demonstrably false claims made in their complaint.Customer Answer

I've used all the emails and phone number ************** I've been able to find: ************************************ ******************************** *********************************** ********************************* ******************************************** to cancel my subscription and membership. All email addresses get an undeliverable bounce back and their number just has an automated recording to fill out their contact form in their website which is not even there. I've filled out their online cancellation form multiple times!!!! When you look up their address it says "WE ARE SCAMMERS". I need this cancelled before 9/5/24. How are these people still able to operate after all of the BBB complaints. They are obvious scammers.Customer Answer

See attached pdfs and photos of my numerous attempts of contact and getting empty responses from your email. Every time i emailed you, i received an undeliverable response. I have my record of the PayPal claim as well with all of this. Your fallacy of a response is destructive to consumers, calling me a liar while I have all records showing otherwise is disgusting.
In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

On April 21, 2024 I upgraded my free IAPWE account membership to a paid membership for the amount of $2.99 per month. I provided my bank debit card for the recurring charge. Their email stated I would receive an emailed receipt but that didn't happen. The IAPWE was of no use to me during this paid membership and so I canceled my account through my online account (they don't answer the phone listed to them, only have a message saying there's no staff to take calls) on July 27, 2024. I received an email stating that I need to cancel the subscription through my ****** account, which I had one but no bank account was tied to it, and after notifying IAPWE of this situation and that my membership was coming directly from my debit card/bank account, I received this reply: On Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 09:51:58 PM EDT, Updates ************************************ wrote:Hi *****,Thank you for reaching out to us. We have sent a cancelation request on your behalf.Best regards,IAPWE Account Support *********************************** ********************************** Today, August 22, 2024, there is a pending charge in my bank account from ******************** for the $2.99. I again emailed IAPWE and in the meantime disputed the charge with my bank. I have tried to cancel my "membership" through this organisation for month now. They continue to charge my bank account even though I told them if they did not follow through that I would contact the BBB and eventually escalate from thereBusiness Response

We are not showing that we received any communication from the complainant requesting assistance with cancellation. We have now cancelled the complainant's account and no refund is warranted in this case since the complainant was on a month-to-month subscription that could be cancelled at any time and our records do not show they reached out to us requesting any assistance.Initial Complaint

I've applied for the job and the email I've received mention free plan, so I subscribed with my **** card. Later found out, free plan cost almost 5$ per month. I was contacted by the business via LinkedIn promising me an official job. When I signed up for a free trial subscription with this business, I learned afterward there was never a job actually offered and was being made to pay for their services, and my personal information was being given away. I followed the cancellation instructions on the website and received the confirmation email, that instructed me to cancel the automatic payment to IAPWE on my PayPal account itself, which I complied and even de-linked my debit card in use from there. However, despite canceling automatic payments, it appeared that I could still log in to my account, and the ********************** membership status remained active. I tried requesting IAPWE to cancel my membership and permanently delete my account via email. However, customer support email asked for my PayPal ID, even though I have already cancelled my account directly from PayPal and their website.Business Response

I signed up for a free trial subscription with this business. After it expired and I attempted to cancel my subscription VIA their website and email to customer support, I am still being charged for a subscription, even though I terminated my account. Their customer support email explained that they still would have to put in a "request for cancellation" and a "request for refund" even though I have already cancelled my account directly from their website. This was over a month ago, and I am still being charged. I suspect this happens to many people, and it is unethical.Business Response

The complainant already canceled their subscription before filing this complaint and already filed a dispute through PayPal and was refunded.
We can no longer provide any support via this platform since we were forced to follow PayPal's resolution process.
