An absolute scam ! I have been trying to get my money out for 4 years. They are shady and make up excuses every day as to why no one has gotten back to me.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE- DO NOT BELIEVE YOUR ADVISOR THAT WANTS THE ***** COMMISSION- THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ATROCIOUS. I USED TO WORK FOR EQUITABLE. IT IS BUILT IN FOR THEM TO DRAG YOU AROUND THE **** TO GET YOUR MONEY OUT. A CLIENT HAD HER "TRUSTED" EQUITABLE AGENT SAY "YOUR NEW ADVISOR SHOULD BE ABLE TO HELP YOU GET YOUR MONEY OUT". FRAUDULENT. THE **** THEY LET THESE PEOPLE IN SCHOOLS SHOULD BE A CRIME. It truly upsets me thinking that someone's mother or daughter could be doing business with this company and be getting ripped off. A few funny things I have found:-their paperwork is only good for 30 days.. yes the form itself. -their paperwork is EXTREMELY specific- if the t is not crossed or I not dotted you will have to call back in (1 hour minimum) during the work day while you are working (their ******* care team" is "who you want to talk to for the exact form- general service does not have it") because the client care team BS is closed after 4PM. LOL. ask your equitable advisor for a written financial plan and see the look on their face. They will tell you they are not the best for you because their work is quick and commission is high-> SIGN SOMEONE UP AND NEVER SPEAK TO THEM AGAIN.

I put $75,000 into Equitable and right away started losing money. I lost up to $6000 before I called my, financial advisor I told him that I was unable to see why I am losing money on their website and asked him to send me a financial report. He said he would but I didnt hear anything for four days so I decided to email him and ask if hes going to send me the financial report and now his email address is not valid, luckily I have a real Financial adviser now that will help me transfer whats left of my money out of this fraudulent company. I truly wish that I would have done more research on this company before I trusting my hard earned money to them. Luckily, the money they wanted from my husbands account we did not invest with Equitable The only reason I clicked one star is because this website made me otherwise it would get NO stars. This is the first time I have ever written a review on any company

I am a new hire in a school district. I received an email from Equitable which was very misleading and made me feel as if "I had to" partake in their services in order to establish my retirement fund/pension through the state. They were pressuring me to roll over a 401K from a previous employer into a 403B account with them. They used very intimidating and "scare tactics" that made me nervous and uncomfortable. Luckily, I called and spoke with my current financial advisor (NOT affiliated with Equitable OR the school district) and he clarified that their services were entirely OPTIONAL and that they have a terrible reputation. I am SO thankful I did not sign any documents or agree to any of their services, because they sound like BAD NEWS. Please beware!

I too have never felt I needed to write a review on a company until now. You would think with all of the prior reviews that they would be better but they are not! Agree with everyone elses experiences of trying to rollover a 403b. You have 90 days from the day the paperwork begins to complete the process. I began in January. In March 1 week from the 90 days I was told my paperwork was incomplete. When I complied and re-submitted what that said they needed (which I was told was BS and not needed) I was told it was now too late and would have to start the process over again. When I call I get placed on hold for 30 min then disconnected. The website is a maze and misleading to try to find the right forms. Tried for 2 hours to speak with someone and never got through. Interestingly enough while on hold for 20 minutes I began to look up how to give a poor review to Equitable and suddenly someone answered the phone at that exact moment. I felt they do everything possible to hold your money hostage and hope you give up. Dont give up!

Scam Artist!!!They hold your money hostage! I could have never guessed company could legally get away with this. They do not make transfer form available online and when I requested one from customer service, they transferred me to a dead line that hung up on me. It is very easy to despot your money through pay check deduction, but impossible to get your money out. I would not recommend them to anyone and they should be put out of business.

I would pick -10 stars if I could. I have been trying to streamline my finances so I asked to have a check sent to the new company. This in itself was a huge hassle. Each time I call, I am on hold at least for an hour (minimally). They supposedly finally sent a check by regular mail. This check was lost for about 3 weeks. I had called several times to see what to do next. I was told I would need to sign an affidavit for a new check. Called them again today, miraculously, the check was returned to them. I was told previously that the next check would be *****ed to ensure that it gets to where it needs to be. When I spoke to the gal today she answered as if she just woke up. She told me they NEVER ***** checks. I asked to speak to a supervisor/manager. I was told that that is not protocol and I would not be able to speak to anyone as she answered all of my questions. She did not. Losing interest and furthermore, we may not meet the 60 day threshold for rollovers. I WOULD NEVER recommend this company. In fact, the advisor I worked with was not helpful either. He told me at one point all fees are listed in the fat booklet I get once a year. He was condescending and rude. Stay far away from this company.

This firm is nothing but a bunch of thieves. They do not tell you the truth about the "investments" they sell and set themselves up as financial advisors. They are nothing but insurance salesmen. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do yourself a favor and RUN AWAY from this company and its so-caller financial advisors....they re nothing but a bunch of crooks!!! I do not now how they live with themselves!!!If I could have given them less than a zero, I would have!

Horrible customer service.! You will spend hours on the phone being transferred from person to person. Most don't speak English. You get different answers with each person you speak with. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere!
