If I could give zero stars, I would! Once again, MetLife has failed to pay on a claim per their pre-cert provided to the dentist. I have called numerous times, filed 2 claim reviews and cannot get even a response from MetLife claims. They are a joke. Today, one of their associates hung up on me when I asked to speak with a claims supervisor. I guess they win again. Instead of them paying only $75 instead of the $598 they said they would, I will have to pay the difference out of pocket. We are canceling our policy but spreading the word. MetLife dental is the WORST dental insurance company ever! Youve been warned!MetLife, Inc.

Unfortunately this site does not allow for "0" stars! I had Metlife dental through my employer for 11 years. For first 10, claims were paid slowly, but they were paid. Claims from August thru December of 2023 have yet to be paid! These have been submitted numerous times, including 4 times in the last 4 weeks via 3 different methods. i.e electronically, ****, and Fax. I followed up with 5 phone calls, 5 different representatives, and got nothing but runaround, promised return calls that never happened, and, caught 1 representative lying 4 times in a single conversation!!Their "customer service" is a joke that does nothing but blow smoke. Ask for a supervisor and of course " they are currently unavailable, due to high volume" but they'll call you back -- right!!!There is a reason my review is almost identical to many more here!!!!MetLife, Inc.

Excuses excuses and more excuses 4 different conversations with 4 different representatives to get 4different ********** mother passed on 22 January this year. In 1988 she had purchased a life insurance policy from MetLife. Now mind you we're not talking about a million dollar policy, but enough to cover her final expenses. Needless to say it had matured and I was named the sole beneficiary. It has taken MetLife 48 days to process the claim against the policy. I had 4 different conversations with 4 different representatives and got 4 different excuses as to what was taking so long. The first I was told everything was all set and that I should be receiving payment in the next few days but my favorite has to be that the claim was in review. AGAIN policy matured with me being the sole beneficiary. I can't believe When my father passed ********** had mom's claim processed check in hand in less than 5 days. For a company that claims to be so caring, it's pretty evident who they care about is themselves Think about it 48 days plus however long it's will to take for the **** to move a letter by what I'm sure will be the cheapest rate from **** to *****, probably 5 more days. That gives them near 2 months to work on my money interest free. Meanwhile because of our initial conversation that I took on the premises of good faith. I used money out of my pocket to cover the bill at the funeral home and have left myself short.Sleazy business practicesMetLife, Inc.

Back in August 2024 I was going to my dentist who was out of network, so beforehand, I called MetLife Dental to get an idea of how much a standard cleaning appointment would cost, to see whether I wanted to go to that appointment or not. I gave all the requested information and the representative told me the total I would be charged would be $13. I proceeded with my dentist appointment since the charge was reasonable. I then got a bill for my dentist appointment for $67. I dont mind paying $67, had the representative told me thats how much it would be, but she said $13. So I called MetLife to ask them about it. The representative on the phone that day said that they did in fact see a note in my file saying I would only be charged $13 for my appointment. But still didnt fix it. Dont tell your customers one thing and charge them another. MetLife is lucky it was only $67, because had it been hundreds of dollars +, we would have had a bigger issue. The representative told me they are never supposed to give customers an exact amount, they are only supposed to give estimates out, which I would have been fine with, but say its an estimate, not exact, or thats what Im going to expect. Also $13 is way off. Be consistent. Train your employees properly to all be consistent in their words and actions. I then requested to speak with a manager to point out the inconsistency and express my frustration, and I was told a manager would get back to me in 3-5 business days. No one got back to me. I called back 3 more times and every single time I was told a manager would call me back shortly. They never did. Its clear all of MetLifes staff, including managers, are not consistent or responsible or qualified. Do better. Teach your staff all the same rules so they dont waste peoples time. One day this is going to happen to someone else, but its going to be for a large bill and Metlife will have a bigger problem on their hands. Glad I no longer have MetLife Dental Insurance.MetLife, Inc.

If I could give zero stars I would. **************** is terrible, coverage is non existent at best. Utilized this insurance for Dental surgery after a traumatic accident. Metlife covered less than 10% of the cost despite advertising they could do 50% to 80% of cost. This business is full of immoral, crooked and terrible humans. I would rather bust my teeth out again rather than pay them another dollar of my hard earned money.MetLife, Inc.

MetLife should stop selling products it can't stand behind. Waited for several weeks only to be denied on the basis that I had mental health issues prior to a patient assaulting me in the workplace. They knew I suffered a grade 2 concussion yet they chose to delineate my mental health issues as a reason to deny. HEALTHCARE WORKERS ARE BEING ASSAULTED AND KILLED NEARLY EVERY DAY. ALL OF US ARE DEPRESSED FOR THE THANKLESS JOBS WE DO. WE ARE EXPENDABLE. This is the thanks or support I get for giving everything I could to nursing. I had to resend several items and my case manager had been on medical leave herself, my case sat untouched for nearly a week. No offering of working on it as a priority. I set my communication preferences as either a phone call or an email BUT I KEEP GETTING THESE FKING LETTERS for things I already know happened. Their website is a joke, it's either completely down or it's online but not showing any of my policies.MetLife, Inc.

I called and emailed Metlife regarding my mother's life insurance policy (Policy Number: xxxxxxx). Unfortunately, my mother passed away on January 1, ****************************** to assist her. I reached out to request their assistance in reinstating her policy due to the unique circumstances surrounding its ******** mother, who was 88 years old at the time, was in the process of reinstating her insurance policy before her unexpected passing. She had previously suffered a stroke, which impacted her ability to manage certain financial and administrative tasks. Additionally, she was a victim of elder fraud, which appears to have led to complications with her payment method, including the issuance of a new payment card, which I believe resulted in the missed payments.Despite these challenges, my mother was actively working with a MetLife representative to reinstate her policy. She submitted the required documents and even sent a check for the missed payments. However, the check was returned to her several weeks ago, leaving the matter unresolved. She also had her doctor send requested medical documents.Given her intention to maintain her policy and the extenuating circumstances, I respectfully requested that MetLife reconsider reinstating her policy. This would not only honor her 25-year commitment to this MetLife policy, but also account for the hardships she faced.MetLife has not responded to my requests and seems inclined from my previous conversation with them to take advantage of this unfortunate situation. I am surprised and disappointed that a company with such a strong reputation would treat a long-term client as poorly as they treated my mother shortly before her death. And their interaction with me following her death has been equally poor, if not non-existent.MetLife, Inc.
