      The left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing. I have a notebook w/ 7+ pages - front and back - of times Ive called the Reps * ** Case Manager. The Reps give ALL different information and ** Case Manager would not return ** calls. I ended up having to hire an attorney and as soon as I did, they will respond back to her either the same day or next day. Its a CONSTANT run around. My doctor sent them information multiple times and the reps would say they have received anything. Prior to getting an attorney,they would send letters with a deadline date that was for after I even got the letter.Their denial of ** Short term disability was incorrect * cherry picked. I asked ** PCP why he said something they quoted in the denial and he was livid because he said he didnt say that. They added OTHER medical records and an x-ray into the denial even though those records * the x-ray were for pneumonia. A completely separate illness that had nothing to do with the illnesses I was seeking Short Term disability for. It took about a year to get ** ************ term disability approved. A journalist from Bloomberg interviewed me about a story concerning problems people w/ ** illness have with getting disability benefits and ********* contacted them and they declined to respond.

      Delayed claims. I pay for this insurance and I am late on bills because they mailed out a check to a old address but following correspondence was to my current address. Left 6 messages for ****** and no follow up until 6 weeks later. Called waited 1 hour and was told that department leaves early.. I work I cant stay on hold an hour.

      Worst insurance company I have ever dealt. Been off for 4 months. First check took 7 weeks. Seen doctor after 4 weeks. They canceled my claim before receiving paperwork from doctor saying weather I could return to work or not. So had to reopen claim. 3 weeks later recieved first check. Got 2 more checks on time than stopped. 28 days later after I put a stop payment on check I finally received a check I couldn't cash. Fixed that after many phone calls. Now it's been 3 weeks again no check. Call can't get ahold of case manager. Leave message no return phone calls. Ask to speak to person in charge. They are never there. They are fast to take your money and impossible to get it back from. Not ready to return to work but have to because New York life Insurance doesn't want to pay me and the bills keep coming. As stated worst company ever

      I tried to open a PFL claim due to emergency surgery or a family member, 5 weeks later it is still in limbo. NYLife is absolutely horrible when it comes to customer service. I would call almost everyday to try and get the claim approved, the **************** reps on the phone are the most incompetent people I have ever dealt with, all they do is pass you on to someone else who is just as incompetent, and every time I would ask a question, I would get a different answer. How this company stays in business is beyond me. The worst part is I PAY for this "benefit".Whatever BS response NYLife is going tp post to this comment, DO NOT BELIEVE IT.??

      I would give this company a zero if it was possible. I have had continuous problems with this company regarding my short term disability and FMLA paperwork. I had contacted them several times during my leave to have the paperwork faxed to my providers office. Finally after calling for the 5th time and my providers office never receiving anything, the woman I spoke to said they never faxed anything over during the times I had called and asked, so this time they finally sent it right away as I was adamant about my provider receiving the paperwork in a timely manner. I had called after that multiple times to check the status of my claim and left various voicemails with my claim manager *******, who never returned my phone calls. I, then received a notice in the mail that some information was missing regarding the paperwork my provider sent over. Once again I reached out to my Claim manager to find out what was needed. I even had a customer solutions advocate send them an urgent email saying I needed them to return my call. I never received any phone calls back regarding my short term disability claim. My claim was then denied. Immediately following the denial I reached out several more times. My claim manager not in the office the multiple times I called and left messages. I had tried speaking to a customer advocate team member but no body was willing to help answer any of my questions. My short term disability claim was denied and it was at the hands of the negligent, incompetent employees at New York Life Insurance Company. They sent paperwork for a FMLA continuous leave, following my claim denial. I called and asked to have it faxed over immediately to my providers office so it could be completed in a timely manner. Once again the paperwork was never faxed over to my providers office. I am risking losing my job over the time I miss due to a legitimate medical disability. The employees here are incompetent and unhelpful.

      This has been a terrible experience and organization do deal with. My process and payment continue to be delayed. I have a serious medical condition and have multiple provider. This includes doctors from top hospitals in the US. ****, Barns Jewis and HSHS. In their opinion they think a RN knows better then a team of some of the best specialists in the country. Basically are telling me I'm not sick according to a RN whi ISN'T a doctor. I've asked for medical credential and documentation and getting nothing but the run around. I've had nothing but unnecessary delay and stress because they don't want to pay benefits. I continually call and ask for supervisors and people to help and get the run around and no help or call back. I've finally had to reach out to legal counsel about this and its just adding even more stress to a already very sick pepersonthid organizations should be ashamed and pay attention to the individual who pay for their policies.

      Our Senior Claim Manager called and spoke to ************ 2/1/23, discussing her concerns. Our Claim Team Leader also attempted to call twice on 2/2/23, but was unable to reach ************ or leave voicemail. As soon as a decision has been reached on her claim she will be notified.

      I am very disappointed in New York Life Group Benefit Solutions shorting my claim. I have a claim from a c-section ********** was complicated by a bowel resection causing me to miss 13 weeks of work. I had both transverse and longitudinal incisions making it impossible for me to lift anything I couldn't even lift my baby at first. New York Life paid the first 8 weeks disability payment as if I had a non complicated csection and despite a letter from my bowel surgeon they denied payment for the remaining time. I am very disappointed in their decision as it goes against my surgeon's decision and this is a plan I have paid into. I will have my ************************** look into providing a different short term benefits company.

      New York life has not addressed my concerns. They continue to deny a signed letter from the surgeon who did the repair surgery so they can continue to pay for the minimum uncomplicated c section.

      Horrible company for short term disability they pride themselves on never paying benefits and denying claims. I can’t believe ******** does business for it’s employees with this company. They will have you and your physician fill out form send them appointment notes and have them fill out clarification forms just to deny your claim. The claim manager ***** and her supervisor ******* take pride in telling you that your claim will be denied before they receive all the documents from your physician and therapist. They are happy to add stress and anxiety to a person’s ongoing mental health challenges. They have no empathy at all. They stressed me out for months only to deny my claim. They don’t try to help you at all. I hate that I ever took the std policy out with ********.

      I agree they are useless. Inept people and leave management never return calls. Totally give the run around and pass the buck . I hate that my company uses them . I was out for 2 months never got paid. I was never advised of what I qualify for. They literally NEVER called me back EVER! My doctor was so incredibly frustrated with these people that she said she has NEVER seen anything so unprofessional. I am still sick and had to return to work because I have no money and thats apparently fine with them.

      Sent all paperwork required they claim they didn't receive it. Even though watch doctor ****** send all the pages. Everyone speak to say they take your information and log it but when call that information isn't there. Had surgery was out for two months and they only paid once. Going back to work and they know that but can't answer why I am not getting paid a second time.

      ******************** claim has now been approved and paid through his confirmed return to work. Letter has been mailed to him today detailing this decision.
