Im reaching out because Lexis Nexis has improper information on my consumer report that i never consented to share. The BBB has helped me resolved issues in the past so i thought id try again. I have 3 open cfpb complaints that have been unaddressed by lexis nexis. Under FCRA 15 U.S. Code 1681n(b)(B), if someone obtains a consumer report under false pretenses or knowingly without a permissible purpose, they are liable for actual damages suffered by the consumer or $1,000, whichever is greater. Additionally, punitive damages may be awarded as the court allows. I did not initiate any of these accounts. If you believe otherwise, please provide copies of my written signature giving consent.I also did not authorize the sharing of my non-public information. The reporting of this information is not fair or equitable to me as a consumer. According to 15 U.S.C. 1681, Section 602(a), I have the right to privacy. Additionally, 15 U.S.C. 1681, Section 604(a)(2) specifies that a consumer reporting agency cannot provide an account without my written instructions. As a security precaution, and with no intention of needing credit in the near future, I filed a credit freeze in 2017. Now I find that lexusnexus is reporting "adverse information" about me to an insurance company. Not only is the information inaccurate, it is preventing me from obtaining reasonably priced insurance. I cancelled the membership with ***** Nexis in February of 2024. The membership provided month-to-month legal services. My account was disactivated and I have not had access to the content since February of 2024. Nevertheless, they keep billing me, even though, I email and call every month reminding that I do not have a membership with ***** Nexis anymore. I understand that it is an outgoing issue with the business and they take advantage of their customer by overbilling. There is no way to reach them out on a phone after you receive the bill. Because your account is disactivated, you are allowed to talk to a customer representative. So it is insoluble. Please help.Business Response

I am filing a complaint against LexisNexis for failing to respond to a dispute I submitted regarding inaccurate information on my credit report. Specifically, there are unknown and unrelated addresses appearing on my credit report, which I did not authorize or associate with my profile. On [8/6/204], I sent a formal dispute to LexisNexis via certified mail (Certified Mail Number: **** **** **** **** **** **) to address these inaccuracies. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), LexisNexis is required to investigate and respond to disputes within 30 days of receipt. However, it has now been over 30 days, and I have not received any response or resolution to my dispute. The continued presence of these incorrect addresses on my credit report is a violation of my rights under the ****. This inaccurate information has the potential to harm my creditworthiness, and LexisNexiss failure to respond is unacceptable. I am requesting that the ************************************ investigate this matter and ensure that LexisNexis complies with its obligations under federal law to properly investigate and correct inaccuracies in my credit report. I have an error on my driving history that I have been trying to get corrected since May. The first representative told me if ***** did not respond then dispute automatically is in my favor. The error involves a glass claim from 8/10/23 which Geico informs me shows correctly in their system as "not at fault". I have filed several disputes since May and LexisNexis has failed to communicate the need properly to Geico in order to get the database corrected. This is costing me thousands of dollars in insurance premiums due to the underwriting having the claim listed "at fault". LexisNexis continues to file disputes and Geico claims the information is correct because on their side it is showing as "no fault". I have spoken with Geico and they agree the claim is a "not at fault" yet LexisNexis will not update their database or even do a call with all three parties. They simply keep sending disputes to Geico and obviously are not communicating the need properly or not reaching the correct person.Business Response

LexisNexis has yet to talk with the right department at *****. I spoke with Geico directly and was told the information was correct on their side. LexisNexis claims that ***** keeps responding that information is correct. That is because Geico shows corrected on their side. LexisNexis agrees this is a window claim which is not "at fault" for insurance purposes, yet will not call Geico and actually communicate with a person to explain the issue.
I also filed a separate complaint against Geico for which I have not received any correspondence from the BBB as of yet.

Their dispute process is seriously flawed and each agent you speak with contradicts the other. It is very disturbing that our life history is in the hands of these people.
My current insurance company resolved my issue. LexisNexis was no help at all after spending months on the phone and going through several dispute processes with them. Their agents make promises of following through on issues and then hang up the phone without doing the work.

For Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaints, we continue to use a generic response for posting on the BBB website and a mail a more fulsome response to the consumer.? We have taken this approach to safeguard consumer-specific data; the BBB has confirmed that this is the better approach.

On 9/17/24 I applied for an Amex business credit card. They denied me claiming my company had filed for bankruptcy. That is a lie!! I do not have any bankruptcy on my business or personal credit! *** have I ever filed a business or personal bankruptcy, OR been a part of one or even named in one!!! Additionally, I have never even been a part of any company that did file for bankruptcy!!I want this reviewed immediately and this lie removed from my records in their system immediately!!! This is libel!!!It shows they do not use reputable sources for their information. They listed Experian, Duns and "nexuslexus"! Neither Experian or Duns told them this! I have excellent business and personal credit, which I can verify with both Experian and Duns!! I have an Experian account AND a Duns account!! They had to get this false information from nexuslexus, who simply sells people "public" records that they look up. They do not even verify to ensure the records belong to whom they are attaching them to. In this case they have falsely attached someone else's bankruptcy to my company. Which, is nearly impossible since whatever company they are mixing mine up with does not have the same ************** rent an office in a building where MUST businesses also rent space! They are clearly putting someone else's bankruptcy under my name!! Which, again, should be nearly impossible since that business will not have the same name or EIN, or even registered agent as my company!!!I want this corrected IMMEDIATELY!!!!!Business Response
