Just received notification that our car insurance company (*********) is dropping us because of a LexisNexis report. LexisNexis has reported incorrect information including wrongly listing an at fault accident among other entries. This is a ridiculously fraudulent company that is sending out incorrect data on people. They require PII (SSN, Driver's License number, and DOB) just to request their full report which they say will take 2 weeks to receive. Then starts the path to correcting their errors. In the meantime, I keep getting turned away by other insurance companies because of this company's wrongly reported information!Business Response

The only mail I have received from LexisNexis Risk Solutions is when I tried to request a report before making this complaint. I received a letter stating that they did not have all the information necessary to locate my report. This is after entering an exceeding amount of PII for the report request. I have not received a letter/resolution in the mail concerning this complaint.

Filed a complaint online with NexusLexus after receiving a letter about my credit *********** homeowners insurance with **********. Several items listed were not accurate, 1. not enough info regarding department store accounts. I have only 1 store account ***** I do not use it has a zero balance for approx 5 yrs, 2. Late payments last 2 yrs I have no late payments last 2 yrs. They responded to my complaint that I must clear this up with the 3 credit reporting agencys they used. I pulled Experian report today credit score 780, all categories excellent, NexusLexus was not on the list for checking my credit. After raising my homeowners 80% last year because of this they raised it another $1,300. This complaint is directed at LexisNexis (LN), a company that houses data on customers of various companies. LN shared the data they have for me with my *********** insurance company, ********** Manufacturers. ******* is dirty and riddled with inaccuracies which result in higher insurance premiums for me, the customer. I finally was able to wrestle a report from LN and I submitted my questions & comments via email as directed on 25JUN2024. Ive tried calling to no avail. In the off chance you reach a human, its never the person who can answer questions related to my data, so they then transfer you to the appropriate department and promptly disconnect you. This happens EVERY SINGLE TIME! ** never makes any attempt to call back even tho you just confirmed the best phone # to reach you at. This is an outright scam and Im equally infuriated at my insurance company, who Ill deal with directly.I am seeking an explanation from ** about these inaccuracies that cost me more money AND I want LN to correct the data they have on me because I have no ideal who else they could be sharing this faulty data with.Business Response

Dear BBB,I am writing to file a formal complaint against LexisNexis for violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) by failing to provide my consumer report on two separate occasions. The relevant details are as follows:On July 12, 2024, I requested my consumer report from LexisNexis but did not receive it as required by law.Again, on August 6, 2024, I made a second request, and once more, LexisNexis failed to deliver the report promptly.LexisNexis claims they sent the report the day after my requests, but I received only a PIN to freeze or unfreeze my reportno actual report.I spoke with ******* and later with a supervisor named *******, but the issue remains unresolved.Given these repeated failures, I have decided to seek legal assistance to address this matter. My grave concerns regarding the persistent inaccuracies in my records maintained by LexisNexis, the failure to address these inaccuracies adequately, and the potential violation of my rights. The handling of my personal information has not only caused significant financial harm but also undermined my credibility as a consumer. Persistent Inaccurate Reporting and Identity Theft Concerns I acknowledge that some incorrect information has been removed from my records, crucial errors remain, which have severe consequences: My report contains addresses and phone numbers that do not belong to me, suggesting potential identity theft. This misinformation could lead to severe financial and legal repercussions if not promptly ************ auto records include false entries of unpaid auto insurance policies during a period when I did not require insurance, as my vehicle was in the shop. These entries are unjustly inflating my insurance premiums and affecting my creditworthiness.The continued presence of false information in my records represents a violation of my rights as a consumer. LexisNexis holds valuable and sensitive information that should be managed with the utmost care and accuracy. Lack of Direct Access to Support attempts to rectify these issues have been met with automated systems and generic responses that fail to address my specific concerns. Security and Privacy Concerns: I have been asked to submit highly sensitive documents without sufficient guarantees regarding the security and privacy of this information. ***** was accessed. Records related to identity theft and incorrect auto insurance records, be thoroughly reviewed and corrected. Given the presence of unfamiliar and unauthorized information in my records, "LN" info is damaging to just mine financial well-being but also undermining my rights as a consumers.
