      In June of 2023, our insurance company, Progressive, where we have our home and auto policy contacted us that our rate was going up. This rate was almost $350 a month. We asked for an explanation. They informed us that the LexisNexis report showed that our son had an at fault accident on his record from 08/1/2021. We informed them that this cased was dismissed by the court and all references to the tickets he received were to be voided. We contacted the State of ****** and got the information removed from our Son's Driving record after providing them the court documents. We then made an attempt to contact LexisNexis. The person we spoke to would not listen to us and told us the document from the court would not be accepted because it did not have the date of the accident on it. We told them that was all we were given. We tried to explain the issues... ************ has not interest in treating people like human beings. After speaking to this company, we tried to get Progressive to change it They told us they would not until LexisNexis changed it. We have been paying $350 extra a month and ha e been doing so since June. This complaint will only be resolved when LexisNexis complies with the Court Document in regards to the "accident" from 8/1/2021. The court dismissed the case and removed any fault from my son. The accident was involving a false accusation about him striking a parked car. Evidence was presented at Court that he did not do it. The judge dismissed it. We want the accident removed from his record. That is the only resolution to this complaint. A little bit of actual effort from Lexis Nexis would show that what we are telling them is correct.

      In August 2023 I received notice from my insurance carrier that, based on a report from LexisNexis, I am paying a premium due to a bad credit rating. My bank rates my credit as 783. (excellent). I have contacted LexisNexis requesting an explanation. They responded they could not identify me in spite of the fact that I sent them my SSN, driver's license number, date of birth, etc. I then wrote to them with further information (letter attached) on October 7,, 2023. I have not received any response. I am being charged a premium based upon no facts. *** t an explanation of how they know me to report me to an insurance company but don't know me when I furnish all information.

      Based on Lexi Nexis fraudulent consumer report on me, stating that my license has been suspended for more than 36 months. I now have lost my insurance on both my vehicles and my registration will be canceled because of their inaccurate information that they lazily provided to State Farm. The license that they were using on file was surrendered in 2020, and Lexis Nexis stated that it was suspended in 2022 to State Farm. I already reported this to the ftc.gov webpage. I also talk to LexisNexis and informed them of this as well. They said they will look into this which is taking them too long. I now have to look for insurance and re-register my car because of their actions which I know I will not receive any of my money back because of their lazy and recklessness, when it comes to investigating and giving a proper consumer report because it does not harm them.

      LexisNexis Risk Solutions **** takes complaints from consumers extremely seriously and we have a robust process in place for resolving such matters, including a Legal review of all responses and handling by our Operations Escalated Response Team. 

      For Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaints, we continue to use a generic response for posting on the BBB website and a mail a more fulsome response to the consumer.  We have taken this approach to safeguard consumer-specific data; the BBB has confirmed that this is the better approach. 

      If the consumer does not agree with the BBB website response he or she can then reject the case on the BBB website; however, it keeps the consumers data safe.

      LexisNexis collects and reports consumer information such as credit information and auto history. They have reported that I have several accidents on my record that are redundant an inapplicable that have caused estimated rates to increase significantly. They are impossible to contact through their online query system or over the phone. They do not allocate enough resources to customer service to correct errors made by the company which greatly impacts the livelihood of individuals that never agreed to be subject to their authority. I am attaching an image of my accident and ticket record that shows redundancy on the same or similar dates (these redundancies are 100% in error). I am also attaching copies of their automated responses that do not even address my inquiries. They said they would contact me, but they provided no indication for timeframe or any intention to actually follow up with the offer. I understand that they are a big company, likely with a lot of power, and expect little from my application, but I have to file the complaint. I hope you can help.

      The number that LexisNexis provided results in an indefinite hold time. There are no estimated wait times or options for call backs. I would appreciate if they would call me as they stated they would in one of their original emails (previously uploaded "2023-11-07 - LexisNexis Requests additional information.pdf"), or provide a more direct line to reach the individual reviewing my case. 

      In response to the BBB complaint (MUCH THANKS TO BBB FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS) I received the attached email (my response is included in the .pdf as well). They simply requested more information to verify my identity. This information had previously been provided via their online submission process. It was submitted again in response to the email as requested.

      LexisNexis is apparently using circular communication to avoid actually resolving my case. They claim responses within ***** hours, but nothing has actually been accomplished in the last week besides requesting information that has already been provided and directing me to call a number that does not connect me to an agent. (BBB, in contrast, both responded and helped to establish communication within hours. Again, well done BBB). I very much appreciate BBB's mediation and hope that they will continue to motivate LexisNexis to show the importance in which they claim to have for my inquiries.

      I contacted Lexis Nexis via online to file a report to opt put of reporting information due to my identoty being stolen and tax information. I also mailed them a letter in ******* 2021 requesting a copy of all infomation on my behalf to verify a d to confirm the accurracy, I received in May ************************************************************************************************************************************************************** September of 2023 that some jmformation had been sold and bought to acompany using Lexis Necis database and went online to opt out again since my information was still in jeopardy and filed the opt out request form online and was given an error message that it could not be done and this is against consumer ****. I emailedand contacted their escalations privacy email and sent the screenshotsand tbey continued to send emsils not confirming the origibal information. I called on September 20th and spoke to an agent and ********** wanted a copy of all data to verify the accurracy and to confirm I requested in ******************************************************************************************** and said they dont have to opt out my information. Still hasnt been suppressed as requested and still hasnt provided a copy of all information private or public.I am requesying all publicand private records that have been sold, bought, and or otherwise collected in totality since January 2017 to present.

      I have attempted ******************************** touch with a live representative at this business. There are a few questions I'd like answered in relation to the data your business has harvested on my person without my consent.I was not aware of the existence of this business, or of the validity, and influence this company has had over the course of a few years on people's ability to obtain insurance coverage, employment opportunities, credit extensions, etc.I learned all but recently about Lexis Nexis due to the aforementioned impact your business has influencing decision-making for businesses on whether people are considered 'worthy' of their services.Although there is an argument to be made regarding 'fair use', there should be a level of corporate responsibility for how the data your business is compiling on everyday people are being utilized to make these already challenging and unprecedented times even more crippling.Naturally, as one does I attempted to contact your business to not only attempt to find out who you were but, for clarification on what exactly was being reported to these insurance companies that was causing them to deny me coverage. However, to this date, I have yet to get a hold of anyone at your business.It is apparently not enough to have paid for years of unused coverage, to pay for additional coverages in the event that out-of-the-ordinary circumstances occur, to be a safe driver, and to be found not at fault when a collision happens, because at the end of the day, all an insurance company needs to do is run a quick 15-second query and have a computer decide that this individual is too 'high-risk' to insure leveraging the information they obtain from your business to do so.

      Good Morning, 

      As you may have noticed there is no actual resolution to this complaint. As a result, I find it insulting that this case keeps getting 'closed'. My understanding is that BBB is meant to serve the average consumer and not simply to meet SLAs or ticket closing quotas. Perhaps I am judging your mission statement a bit too critically. 

      In regards to this business's responses to my complaint have not only been unsatisfactory i.e. they have not been able to 'verify' my identity even though that is their entire niche. When I did get incontact with a representative i was presented with an option to dispute the information that LexisNexis is reporting back to insurance agencies and taking no accountability that their negligence has a direct impact their business model has on people's livelihoods. 

      I have since received another notification informing me that dispute i submitted regarding the information that LexisNexis is reporting back to insurance agencies has been declined, once again leaving me unable to obtain car insurance coverage over car accident claims for which all claims i was found to be not at fault. 

      Kindly re-open this case as this is an ongoing matter.

      I have reached out to Lexis Nexis recently and in the past for an issue. There is another person listed on my report. Usually my insurance agent is able to make sense of the problems. I can't sign up for a bank account online because the "verification" questions asked are for someone else's information, not mine. Just today I was trying to access medical records online and they use Lexis Nexis for their ID verification and I wasn't able to access my medical records from Quest diagnostics or from ********* I've addressed the issue with Lexis Nexis and the person who is on my report, I am also on their report. Somehow my name was provided to them and the insane person reached out to me on social media like I had done something wrong. This has caused a lot of undue stress and is now impacting my medical care. I would like a resolution immediately. The other person's name is *************************** or something, I blocked them and can't find them anymore. It is not even close to my name, they've never been associated with my address, I don't understand how this is possible and it is inexcusable. It is also very concerning that my name and personal information was given to a stranger over something I had nothing to do with.

      Complaint against Lexis Nexis Representatives Dear BBB Team,I am writing to file a formal complaint against a series of interactions I had with representatives from Lexis Nexis. Unfortunately, my experience with their team has been exceedingly frustrating and unproductive, prompting my need to escalate this matter.Over the course of three conversations with Lexis Nexis agents, I sought assistance with a crucial matter: lifting my security freeze, opting out, and disputing inaccurate information on my credit report. To my dismay, each representative I spoke with exhibited an alarming level of unhelpfulness and persisted in repeating themselves, despite my clear and reasonable requests.My primary concern arose when, in an attempt to verify my identity, I was asked for my social security number. Due to my unwavering commitment to privacy and security, I declined to provide this information. Instead, I offered my drivers license number, current address, date of birth, and other pertinent details. Regrettably, even with this information, the agents were unable to offer meaningful assistance.This ordeal has not only resulted in a significant waste of my time and energy, but it has also caused potential damage to my reputation. I believe it is imperative for the Better Business Bureau to be aware of the disconcerting behavior exhibited by these Lexis Nexis agents.In addition to seeking resolution for my initial concerns, I also expressed my need to lift the security freeze in order to secure funding and approvals. Regrettably, this plea fell on deaf ears, as I was subsequently asked to provide unnecessary documents such as a cable bill and bank statement. This request is particularly baffling, considering I had already uploaded a notarized proof of address form from the **** to their consumer portal on October 16, 2023.I implore the Better Business Bureau to investigate this matter thoroughly and hold these agents accountable for their actions. Such behavior is not only unprofessional, but it also reflects poorly on the reputation of Lexis Nexis as a whole.I appreciate your immediate attention to this matter and trust that the Better Business Bureau will handle this complaint with the utmost diligence.Sincerely,*******
