      My granddaughters mother passed away January 19,2022. Since then I have been trying to withdraw the death benefit for her. Every time I call I am put on hold for over and hour and then put into voicemail. Ive sent guardianship papers there a month ago and still havent received anything from them. It is totally unfair to hold on to something that needs to be given to my 7 year old granddaughter

      As with every other review poor customer service very very sketchy ********************** Extreme hold times no contact email etc etc.They have my money held hostage!!!!How can BBB rate them well????

      Same story as most on here. I've been trying to make a withdrawal of some rolled over funds. Impossible to get through to anyone on the phone. The times I did speak to someone, including my representative, I received three different withdrawal forms. All three were incorrect forms! I had mailed forms and emailed them, but never received any kind of communication on whether any of them had been received. I have submitted my FOURTH withdrawal form via email four days ago. Still haven't heard anything. I am furious with this company. It genuinely feels like they do all they can to avoid paying out money. The company I work for uses them and I know I'm not the only one there that's had this problem. I will definitely will be rolling the rest of my money into a plan with a different company.

      I have been trying to get a hold of someone since last week and I even left my number for someone to call me back and nothing. Finally I got a hold of someone today after waiting on the phone for almost two hours. This is not professional at all. Very poor customer service.

      I have been trying to cash out my fathers pension following his death last September. All paperwork was submitted and received on April 25th. After many phone calls, excessive hold times, and conversations with supervisors- still nothing! The customer service is a disgrace and they ought to be ashamed. I sent a letter to the *** as a last resort. We all know he will never see it, but I just dont know what else to do! I am very suspicious at this point- especially after reading these recent reviews! What agency regulates this company?

      I have tried to get my 401 K funds since June23, 2022. I have yet to get acknowledgement, a phone call about my account or email. I am unemployed and could really use my money.

      July 21, 2022 I mailed in my hardship withdrawal application. As of August 4th, I have not received my money. I have heard 2 different stories as to why I haven't received my money. Second call I made the young lady said a supervisor would be calling me in 30 minutes, it's been an hour and it doesn't look like I'll be getting a call back today. Mind you...I needed the money by Monday, August 8th for medical procedure. Looks like I'm not getting my money in time.

      I have submitted important documents that I need reviewed and a deposit sent to me for imperative reasons. It's been day seven and I haven not seen anything happen with my account. I've been calling the business daily since I submitted the documentation well over a week ago. I either have been on hold multiple times for three plus hours and/or ask for return call. A couple times I received zero call back and also requested on 08.03.22 a supervisor to call me back, still have not received a call. I've explained that this situation particularly is related to medical stuff and I'm looking for concrete information, date I can expect it to be in the mail and arrive to my house. When I've spoke to someone on the phone I'm in circles waiting for hours, or when they call they tell me vague answers with know specific information which is not okay when it's my account and I'm depending on this situation to resolve a pretty important matter. This is the fourth or fifth time in 3 days that I get sent to either another person just to tell me, "ummm let me look into that." I'm not a complainer but this has been a TERRIBLE experience I'm still sitting here with zero answers, nor able to fulfill my obligation until I hear back. Who seriously has a customer sit on a phone for three plus hours, that's gross. Not being able to get your customer clear answers as a representative is not okay. I can't get this medical procedure done without this and here I am on day seven or so no answer, nothing. Very very unprofessional and I'm not impressed at all. My old company answered calls within 25 mins the most, and would resole issues instantly and ALWAYS give specific answers. People that are on a medical time line really shouldn't be put through this. I'm appalled.

      Im so disappointed with Mutual of America. I went through this Company from my job and its the worst thing I ever did. I decided to close my Retirement account because you cant get anyone on the phone, and then they had the nerves to tell me I couldnt get my money until I leave my job! I told them I wasnt leaving my job, so they went and looked up my Retirement plan and finally emailed me paperwork. Well its been almost two weeks and no money. They dont even email you to confirm they received your paperwork. I had a Retirement plan from my other job and had access to it easily. I dont recommend this company to anyone. I wish I had read the reviews before signing up.

      I am very frustrated as I wait on hold for the second day in a row trying to contact Mutual of America. I was told 4 weeks ago that papers would be mailed out to me regarding taking out my retirement money. The forms were never mailed to me. They never even give me the opportunity for a call back number. I have no idea how to get in touch with them. I thought about sending a certified letter in order for them to call me to release my money. Is there any way to help me?
