      On Oct 21, 2023 I had COVID like symptoms. I went to the Modern MD Urgent Care Center at ***************************** Brooklyn, ** *****. I was horribly sick and could barely walk. I was tested for COVID. I was told the test was negative and given some prescriptions for symptomatic relief. I was told the bill was $124 and I paid it in full at the time with my ***** I was never told there would be any further bill. Today, 3/18/24, five months later, I received a call from a collection agency that I owe Sunrise Medical Lab $100 for labwork on 10/21/23 in relation to this visit at the Modern MD Urgent Care Center. I was never told by Modern MD Urgent Care Center that I would receive any further charges. I was never sent my lab results. I was never sent any bill for the labwork. I called Modern MD Urgent Care today and they said that I signed a form that said I was responsible for the lab charges. It is not reasonable to think that when I go to an Urgent ************ and I am so sick that I can hardly stand up that I am going to read every form that they make me sign. There are a lot of forms before you get to see a doctor. It would have been responsible of them - to tell me that I would be incurring a $100 charge in addition to the $124 that they made me pay that day. - to send me my labwork, so that I could receive the benefit of knowing the results of the test i was being charged for. - to send me the bill in the mail.It is unfair to think that five months later I am supposed to pay a bill that - I never knew about, - was never sent and - never received the benefit of the test results.It is especially unprofessional that they sent me to a collection agency without ever even notifying me of the bill. I would like them to drop the $100 labwork bill, since I was never informed about it, never received it and never receive the results of the test from the lab or from Modern MD Urgent Care.

      On March 9,2022 my son was seen at Modern MD and charged a co-pay of $50. Our insurance company's agreed co-pay is $30 for for urgent care facilities such as ModernMD. I called ModernMD multiple times when I received the the *** and asked for a refund of the difference charged ($20) and was repeatedly assured that this would happen. The billing department stopped answering my calls and I have yet to receive the refund as promised.
