I signed up for 6 months with Weight Watchers (WW) based on the advertised compound *********** option which after a questionnaire they informed me was an option for me for weight loss. However, before getting to select a medication, all within 2 days, WW removed that option due to availability. However, WW was aware that the *** was putting a stop to the compound medication, yet they continue to advertise this as an option to lure people in to signing up just to find out that it isn't available anymore. At the very least it is irresponsible and deceptive advertising practices. As of today they are still advertising that as an option for people. The compound option is affordable while the name brands are not for most people. I have tried calling and communicating through their customer service chat but keep getting told that they won't cancel. I have done all I can do to try to resolve this with them without seeking outside help or posting negative reviews. At this point I have instructed my credit card to block all WW charges.

I wanted to clarify the information presented during the signup process regarding membership cancellation, specifically the mandatory checkbox that states: "While you may cancel your subscription at any time, cancellation will not go into effect until the end of your Commitment Plan. Additionally, I want to emphasize that our WW Clinic memberships offer a comprehensive suite of services that extend beyond ***** prescriptions. Therefore, if a member does not qualify for a ***** prescription, this does not serve as a valid reason for early termination of a commitment plan, as the other valuable services included in the membership remain accessible.

      Sincerely, WeightWatchers

I signed up for the app and was not aware of their special clause, "commitment" for the plan. The advertisement for the service and the app is made to believe that you can sign up and cancel at any time. However, while the app allows you to cancel the program on the app, they keep pushing for you to stay and once you are about to finalize the cancellation, you are told that they will continue to bill you for the rest of the year. First, why if cancellation is really NOT an option, it should not be allowed to be done on the app. Second, in what world would I want continue to pay for a service that I don't want and be lied to that you can cancel. This is a scam! It is evident that the service is a scam as WW is trying to not file for bankruptcy. Perhaps if their business practices were appropriate, they would not be asking for bailouts!

During the sign-up process, members are provided with our Terms and Conditions, which they are required to review and authorize before completing their registration. Please note that our membership is a 12-month commitment plan. As outlined in the agreed-upon terms, any cancellation will be effective at the conclusion of this initial commitment period.

Inconsistent explanation of costs. Delivery time of product, no human connection to rectify this issue. Inconsistant explanation of membership concerns. Endless reviews online regarding the same issues with this company. *********** injections are serious. Clients need to have a clear understanding while using this medication. Not constantly be under stress about the contract time and refil dates and never being able to reach an understanding having to spend endless amount of time on the phone trying to get an understanding of my role in the membership. They definitely had no problem taking my $$

We understand the member had a negative experience, and we want to clarify a few points.

Our clinic operates strictly on a telehealth, online basis. We do not make phone calls to members. The member in question paid for three months of service along with two vials of medication. We can confirm that their membership has now been canceled.

On 5/4/25 I attempted to join WW for weight loss plan that included meds. I uploaded all the info stated even though it was not disclosed prior to taking $49 off my credit card. A facetime appt was set 5/8/25. During this 15 min call, I was then told they need height verification. When I checked my record, I saw my height was incorrect, which is not unusual since no doctor actually asks or check. I offered to go to a studio to verify my heigt, they refused, then said I wasn't a good candidate, but not before charging my card again for $29.04 and canceled my plan then refused refund..

Thank you for your interest in the WW Clinic. Please note that there is a $49 Consultation Fee upon enrollment. In the event that we are unable to finalize your program registration, we will notify you. We understand that a full refund was not immediately processed, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. You should see the remaining balance of your refund reflected within 5 to 7 business days.

      Sincerely, WeightWatchers

I only joined WW for the ** program. The fact that it comes with something else doesn't mean you get to downgrade when I am deemed "not a good candidate ". WW Clinic offers various subscription durations to suit your needs, with our longer-term plans providing the most cost savings. Before you activate your membership, you will see a concise overview detailing your chosen payment plan and our cancellation policy. Please note that multi-month plans can typically only be canceled at the end of the current subscription period.

No one makes you join for 1 year. What person would commit to 1 year. Other programs are monthly which is more reasonable with the option of canceling anytime without questions.

On our website, customers must select their desired plan. Longer subscription durations qualify for reduced prices. The state laws governing "cooling off periods," which allow for termination, in some states, within a short time period after subscription sign-up, only apply to a certain specific subset of subscription services and do not apply to medical services.

Please note that payment is required at the time of sign-up. While we strive to schedule consultations as quickly as possible, we do not guarantee a consultation within 24 hours of enrollment. As part of the program requirements, members are asked to upload their identification and medical information. Once this information has been submitted and reviewed by our Clinic team, a consultation is scheduled to discuss the various plan options available to you. This information is stated in our terms and conditions.

I signed up for a Weight watchers membership on April 16th, 2025. On May 6th, 2025 I received notice the company was going through a transition financially, which turned out to be bankruptcy. Less than 1 month after signing up. I do not want to be part of this transition. I canceled my membership, but am being told I will continue to be charged the monthly fee until April of 2026. I was told that the charges were explained and what I agreed to when signing up. While that may be True, LESS than a month later it was shared of the bankruptcy changes. Members should have been given the option to cancel without penalty. I didn't agree to be part of a "financial transition period", and new investors with potential changes in the future. I would like my future billing contract canceled. I'm not even asking for a refund of previous charges. I no longer want to be part of this brand during these transitions. Further more their customer service is incredibly lacking and I don't feel the amount of support they claim is there for their customers is accurate.

Regarding WeightWatchers bankruptcy announcement, the members remain top priority as we position ourselves for long-term success, with strengthened financial position and the flexibility to further invest in key growth initiatives.  Most importantly for the members, it is business as usual at WeightWatchers throughout this process with no disruptions to our operations, pricing, or offerings.

Prior to activating a membership, a short summary outlining the payment plan and cancellation policy is displayed, with key details emphasized in bold. Below this summary, there is a mandatory checkbox confirming agreement with these terms. The membership activation is contingent upon this box being checked. The member had signed up for a one year commitment. An exception was made and the account was canceled early and a partial refund was given.

Signed up April 23 2025 under the impression I was getting compound *********** for $189 a month. Since then I got nothing but a run around from the clinic and long response wait times lasting days. I woke up to a notice that they are not supplying *********** starting May 21! They knew they were stopping this and are luring people to sign up-misleading them to take their money! These thieves took my money and plan on charging me still without supplying any services I signed up for! I did not sign up to pay $350-$499 a month!

Upon the advice of my primary care provider (PCP) I was prescribed Wegovy to reduce my weight. I am 71 years old and have been diagnosed as having atherschlerosis, and she felt that the reduction in strokes and heart attacks warranted this. Unfortunately my insurance company ***** imposed such onerous conditions that she recommended I avail myself of Weight Watchers (WW) compounded *********** *****. Accordingly on May 1, ****************** "WW Clinic" (web ad attached). I understood the contractural nature of the commitment, and assumed that WW was bound to provide me compounded *********** under the same contract. I was unaware that there was an ongoing public announcement that the *** was going to withdraw approval for compounded *********** ****** and that this was pending within days. I was following my physician's suggestion to seek WW's product and never suspected that the "AVAILABLE" on the WW web page for it was in fact a lure to gain a contractural lockdown of my money, and they knew all along that they were never going to provide it. I have comprehensive screenshots of my entire chat conversational record with WW Clinic, and I repeatedly requests timelines, information, any facts whatsoever that we were proceeding to a ***** prescription, and that chat record elegantly displays that they were elusive, and obfuscated the fact that they were never going to prescribe me ***** because they knew full well they were going to be forbidden to do so by the ***. Now I am locked in to a contract with them and must provide more than $1000 over the next 12 months, yet I am an elderly person on a fixed income and was simply trying to avoid stroke and heart attack via ***** yet now have to accept reduced financial circumstances for nothing. It is reasonable and just that WW cancel my monthly payment obligation (I cancelled May 9, 2025) and leave me in peace. They were smooth-talking and duplicitous, and in this case have succeeded in victimizing an elderly person.

BBB - I received your mailed communication dated 23May25 here in *******, ** after the "6 days" within which to respond as was indicated on the letter.  The **** is not what it used to be, no? I logged on to your website and while I did see the activity therein, was not presented with any means with which to give a response.

So, my response is that "I am satisfied with the business response", yet I do take issue with their apparent statement that I have been "refunded in full." I have not been refunded in full.  They still stubbornly hang on to the initial amount of money I was charged initially when I started their "program", which was actually a program to scalp as much of my money as they could, while they could.

I did not observe a repeated monthly charge on or around the first of this month (30 d from signup on 01May25), so it appears that they have relented. Hope so.  Thank you BBB.  I am certain that your interaction in this matter had a large role to play in their sudden burst of "honesty".
