On Sunday, February 2, 2025, at about 12:00pm, I attempted to complete an assignment. I saw the pay was $0.01. Sometimes, these are simple single question tasks that open up a series of assignments or a larger project in the future. This was not one of those cases. I submitted an inquiry that this must be some sort of error, they cannot be paying just 1 penny for 30 tasks comparing 2 ** voices. I was informed that it is in fact not a mistake, the pay for the entire assignment is 1 penny, no assignment is required and if I don't like I don't have to complete it! NO BUSINESS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO PAY A PENNY FOR AN ASSIGNMENT CONSISTING OF MULTIPLE TASKS! ALL COMPANIES DOING BUSINESS LEGALLY IN THE US SHOULD BE HELD TO EXISTING LABOR STANDARDS AND PRACTICES AND PAY A MINIMUM WAGE!

This company ignored me after stealing my bank information, ID, and bank letter proving my address is mine.
I have no idea if the website is legit due to them immediately suspending my account after they kept prompting me to enter payment information (my bank account information). I contacted their support but they ignored my emails.

A legitimate business does not ignore customer emails after a fraudulent occurrence they instead reassure the customer that they are not a scam. By ignoring my emails asking for help regarding the situation clickworker is 100% a scam that steals banking information.

I signed up for Clickworker through the **** app. I verified my account and as soon as I put in my personal information Name, SSN, Banking info, I immediately got logged out and a message saying session timed out. When I tried to log back in it said my account was suspended and then I received an email stating they need physical copies of my information which I will absolutely not provide as I already feel they are trying to scam me. I want the account along with all of my information deleted from this app and want no dealings with them at all.

Dear Better Business Bureau team,Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Upon reviewing the complaint submitted by Ms Ashlee B, it appears that they used a different service to sign up on our platform. The app named "****" is not associated with our platform. Regarding the suspension of the account, our fraud detection system flagged inconsistencies in the account data provided during the registration process. We have replied to Ms Ashlee B clarifying the concerns. If they wish to mark their account as unwanted or have all their personal information removed from our system, we are more than willing to handle their request.Best regards,Clickworker Community Team

I received a 1099 in the mail from clickworker, a company I never heard of. They were allowing a person to use my social security number to make money and collect money using my SSN and address. I asked why my identity was not verified and how this person was allowed to use my SSN without verification and the person Tina Burmeister said she could not explain. This is fraud and this company is allowing people to use SSNs of other people with no verification of identity.

I signed up with Clickworker. I did a few tasks, like downloading an app and rating 5 companies. This didn't show up as complete. Fine, maybe I need to wait. I tried a few other tasks I felt I could do. Again, waiting for the task to show up. I had a notice that I needed to put my SS# in their system and fill out the W9 form. Great. Maybe that was why I did not see the completed tasks, then I get a notice (9/24/2023) that "Unfortunately, we had to temporarily suspend your account.
Our security checks have discovered an inconsistency within your Clickworker account." Seems EXTREMELY suspisous that I am now suspended since I imputed my personal information. I demand that this information be removed from their system and my account banned. I am not asking for money they may or may not owe me, I am demanding that they remove my SS#.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  I just wanted to let you know that Clickworker has taken steps to reactivate my account. There was an account from 2014 that I do not remember having. They also sent me a formal reply and I am happy with the quick solution. Thank you so much for all the help in this matter. ******

    Regards,

Unfortunately, my click worker account has recently been closed, and I believe this action was taken in error. I have made multiple attempts to contact click worker's customer support, but I have not received a satisfactory response or resolution. Hence, I am turning to your esteemed organization for guidance and intervention.

I would like to highlight that I have always maintained a positive track record with click worker. I have diligently followed their terms of service and have never engaged in any fraudulent or illegal activities. I believe my account closure is a misunderstanding or an unintended consequence of an internal error on click worker's part.
