    On 9/17/2024 I received a call from this business. They received my number from ****. I told man I needed some work in my basement and wanted an estimate. He would send someone over right away to give me a free estimate. ***** ***** arrived and asked what boxes I wanted moved! I told him I had none to be moved but I wanted him to see the basement where I needed an estimate on work. He counted the number of panels I would need and asked some questions. Then asked if I needed anything else. I said i was having trouble putting a ***** BACK in the hole. He said he would that while he was here. I was no told there was a charge to put the ***** I gave him. He took a few minutes then told me he wanted $195 for a first time visit which i did not have. Being alone, handicapped and 80 yr old I was afraid to confront him and gave him $175. The extra $10 was tax. The invoice stated 1 hour visit for installation machine ***** and stud? And he also test door handle! This sound like a scam. I did get an estimate but an certainly not using them, And the amount paid was only for coming to my house and ******** in the ***** [labor]. I do have an invoice but do no know how to submit. **** did try to help but not get any where.

    We addressed **** ****** ********* complaint already with our original response.  We never told her we do free estimates.  We have never done a free estimate in the 21 years in business here, so I am not sure where she got that information from.  **** does provide 3-4 contractors they recommend so I have a feeling she got us mistaken with another company that does free estimates.  Either way when we booked her, we told her what our pricing structure was, and she agreed to have a technician come out.  I would like to remind you that we did rescure a doorknob that **** ******* requested us to do, so not only did we did we give her an estimate on the potential future work we also resecured her door handle.  We do have a 1-hour min. and that is what we charged her.  She signed our invoice to proceed with starting the work and then signed our invoice for a 2nd time stating the work was done to her satisfaction.     Work was preformed so I am a little confused why **** ******* thinks she is due a refund.
