    Dear BBB,

    I wish to formally complain about the deceptive practices of SKS Bottle.com, and to highlight this issue for the sake of protecting other consumers.

    I made a purchase on 05/30/2023 from SKS Bottle.com with order number **********. The product in question was a tube sealing machine, and my decision was based on their explicit listing and accompanying image, which depicted a complete machine.

    Upon receiving the package, I found it contained only a component of the machine, which contradicted their online representation. I contacted their customer service, which was both delayed and unprofessional.

    Following their instructions, I returned the item at my expense, expecting a quick resolution. However, the refund process was drawn out and unjust charges, including a restocking fee and shipping fee, were imposed.

    Adding to the frustration, SKS Bottle.com altered their listing to evade accountability, claiming it had always been that way.

    In correspondence, their representatives shifted blame onto me and even mocked my lack of understanding of the machine's value. Yet, I had no knowledge in this area and relied solely on their product image and description.

    This experience has left me disillusioned and disappointed. I am determined to warn others about SKS Bottle.com's practices by sharing my complaint. I kindly request your intervention to:

    Secure a full refund, covering restocking and shipping fees.
    Obtain an official apology from SKS Bottle.com.
    Initiate a review of their business practices.

    I've attached the confirmation email of what I ordered and photo of the product that was actually sent to me as evidence. Thank you for addressing this complaint and upholding ethical business standards.

    Regarding the item ordered and product page, it is clear on this page that the machine is item THS177.  The machine is shown with that part number listed below that, and directly below, shows the stock number, description and cost of the machine, with other accessories for this machine are shown shown below on this same page.  See the attached image.  We also confirmed with our web team that the last time this product page was updated was on 4/11/23 and that was to add additional accessories to the page.  The order was placed on 5/30/23 and no additional changes have been made since.

    Regarding the charges: The charge is for the vendors standard restock fee and covering the shipping and handling of the item.   At this time, no other refunds are due.  You were only charged for the initial shipping cost and the restock fee that is charged by the vendor. 

    Stock number 9000-02B is what was both ordered, delivered, photographed and returned.

    I placed an order with SKS on 4/30/2022. One of the items, in the amount of $441.00 was backordered. SKS still took the money for the backordered item. Since the order date, I have not received any order updates or an option to cancel the order. On 11/15/2022 I contacted SKS through their website to cancel the backorder and refund my money. I received an email that said I would receive a check because it had been over 6 months. I never received the check. On 12/8/2022 I called SKS customer service. I was told that there was a problem and that I would receive a check in 2-3 weeks. I never received a check. I called customer service again on 12/28/2022. I was told there was a delay and that the check would be sent on 12/30/2022. I did not receive a check. I called customer service on 1/4/2022. I was told there was a meeting on 1/5/2022 and that I would get a call about the check being sent. I did not get a call or email.

    Good Morning, The item amount was $441, however, the customer received a discount when they placed the order.  Since they did not actually pay the full amount of $441.00, she was not credited $441.  The discount that she received was taken out of the credit amount, again, because she did not actually pay the full amount for the item.

    **** ******** I am only accepting this response/resolution because this company has taken enough of my time and energy. They raised the original cost of the item and then took off the entire order discount, not just for the one item, that is the issue. SKS is not worth the $50 or so to get back to have to deal with them any longer. This will come back to them in loss of customers and business. I will make sure I let everyone I can know what kind of company they are. SKS is truly the worst company I have ever dealt with and they obviously do not care about their reputation or business. They should be reported to the FTC for unfair business practices, like taking payment for out of stock items and not notifying the customer of stock updates. The fact that I had to contact the BBB to get my own money back speaks volumes. I do appreciate the help of the BBB.

    I have had nothing but issues every time I place a supply order from SKS. I placed an order in December 2021, a large portion of my order was back ordered but I was charged for it... nearly $3,000. After countless emails and follow ups for over 6 months they had no delivery date in site for this item so I finally requested a refund for the back ordered items. I was told a check would be cut and mailed the same week. After I waited several weeks with no check I called and was told the same thing again... a check would be cut and sent the next Monday (so they never sent it the first time as stated). Over the course of 2 months I have called 4 times asking for the whereabouts of my refund check. Each time they tell me it will be cut and mailed.

    I am a small business and they have been holding a large amount of money hostage from me for almost 9 months now. Their business practices are completely unprofessional and unethical. They have lied multiple times about sending a check and it still has not arrived. Taking money for items they don't have in stock and don;t even have an ETA for is not ok.

We do see that a refund was requested 6/27/22 for your backordered item. There was a delay in mailing your refund check caused by an internal error which has since been resolved.
