I am not seeking any resolution, I only want to advise any potential customers that Vaugh Vision's comprehensive eye exam does not include necessary information to order glasses elsewhere. I took my niece to get an eye exam for glasses. Her insurance did not cover the frames at Vaughn, but the comprehensive eye exam was covered. We let them know that we would like the exam and a physical prescription so that we could buy glasses elsewhere. The exam went smoothly and we left with the prescription. However, the prescription did not include the pupillary distance (PD) measurement so we were unable to order glasses online. My niece called and was told that there was nothing they could do and that isn't included in their comprehensive eye exam. I called and explained the situation and was first told that the PD measurement isn't part of the exam and that we didn't ask about it then so they didn't tell us. Additionally, I was told that they cannot assume that we were we were planning to buy glasses elsewhere with the glasses prescription given to us by the doctor, so they didn't include the PD measurement, which is their standard procedure. I definitely lost my cool more than I'd care to admit. After arguing with the representative about whether or not an eye examination that results in the doctor recommending glasses should include a prescription with all of the necessary information a patient would need to purchase glasses, and what the purpose of providing a patient with a prescription for eye glasses that does not include all of the necessary information to purchase eye glasses is, I was told that we can return and they would be happy to take the measurement, or that we could go to a place like **** ******** and they could take the measurement. To me, this is the same as purchasing a car and the dealer telling you that the steering wheel is extra and it is your fault for assuming everything you need to drive the car would be included in your purchase.
