BBB sent correspondence to Revive Cryo & Wellness on February 15, February, 27, and March 8, 2023, requesting substantiation for advertised claims on their website, https://www.reviveflx.com/, as well as proof of licensing as required by New York State. To date, the business has not responded to our request.
According to BBB Code of Advertising #34 Claimed Results
Claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data.
In example:
Whole Body Cryotherapy
“naturally reduces inflammation by boosting the body’s own anti-inflammatory chemical, norepinephrine. Whole body cryotherapy will stimulate the repair of tissue damage caused by injuries and alleviate pain from a variety of chronic conditions.”
“Whole Body Cryotherapy can also speed up natural weight loss through its ability to boost the metabolic rate, causing the body to burn calories faster during normal activities.”
BBB requested substantiation by providing studies from human clinical trials to support these claims.
BBB Code of Advertising #30. Testimonials and Endorsements
30.1 In general, advertising which uses testimonials or endorsements is likely to mislead or confuse if:
30.1.7 The advertising makes broad claims as to the endorsements or approval by indefinitely large or vague groups, for example, “the homeowners of America,” “the doctors of America;”
In addition to medical and therapeutic claims, the website, https://www.reviveflx.com/whole-body-cryotherapy, makes claims such as,
“Professional athlete teams and some of the most prominent players have been using Whole Body Cryotherapy as a method to win Olympic Gold Metals and other sports championship titles.”
“Professional athletes are turning to this therapeutic method after discovering the powerful increase in their athletic performance as well as decreased injury recovery time.”
BBB requested substantiation of these claims by providing specific names or groups that will verify these statements. The first statement listed implies that by using Whole Body Cryotherapy, an Olympian will win the Gold Medal and athletes will win sports championships.
BBB asked who the Gold Medal Olympians are and the Athletes they are referring to, and if there are any studies to prove these claims.
The business is offering The Sculpt Pod Pro sessions.
Listed below are examples of claims made on the website that may not be an exhaustive list and would require substantiation from clinical trials for compliance with BBB Code of Advertising #34 previously provided.

“Over the span of up to 10 sessions you can expect to achieve dramatic results which can tone and reshape your body and in some cases, complete elimination of cellulite.”
BBB requested substantiation of this claim and how often "complete elimination of cellulite" occurs.
