We originally had plumber Steven from Roto-Rooter come out to install new guts and fix a leak from our main floor toilet in November 2023. Initially the service "seemed like" it was done well. Job was done, he gave us updated parts and we were insured that the toilet guts we provided worked fine on the toilet. Cut back to around a week ago, the same toilet had water pouring from the screws connecting to the tank. We called Roto-Rooter again to solve this issue and the new plumber apologized, but Steven had not properly installed the toilet in November. Couple quick fixes and we were assured the issue was finally solved. At this time there was damage done to the wood floor surrounding the toilet and water had leaked into our basement. A couple of days later the leak occurred again, this time from a different screw and caused significant more damage to the floors and now was leaking into the basement from two spots. We called to have someone just fix the toilet properly, and they sent back Steven. After being three hours late and being extremely rude; Steven blamed us for the parts we provided, saying they would have never worked with the toilet in the first place, he then asked us for another payment just to fix it properly this time. We refused, his mistake and negligence led to damage and we just wanted our toilet fixed right this time. So instead of properly fixing it, he spent ten minutes tightening and left. Even after I told him it's still leaking water, we were told it was normal. He wouldn't do anything about the damage to our floors, and didn't even take the time to look. We've been trying to get someone back out for a couple days now and have made multiple inquiries to reach out to their master plumber Chris........nothing. Our 4th ticket for the job no one has come out for, they've conveniently have had no more plumbers available for us since then, they actually took us off of their schedule without telling us, and we're still left with a unusable toilet.

I had a water heater replaced by Roto Rooter though the work done was good, they charge far too much for water heater replacement. They charged $1468 in labor for less than three hours of work (and that included going to ********** and buying a water heater) and $1200 in parts for a $439 water heater and some fittings. I consider this price gouging. They told me its a flat rate regardless of the time taken. That is lazy and unfair to replacements that are relatively simple.

They didn't finish the job they were paid for. Instead of fixing anything they created a bigger problem. When they were contacted to either finish the job or returned the money they decline both options

Excellent service and plumber! Service was done perfectly and he was informative and friendly. I'd definitely recommend him and Roto Rooter! My only reason for giving 4 stars not 5 is because of the cost. The prices are extremely high! But I know that it's being done properly when Roto Rooter does the job. Especially the plumber they sent! He definitely deserves 5 stars!!!

02-24. The service was for replacement of a main drain line at my home. Over 100 feet dig at 12 feet deep and installed incorrectly. Now failing at years into usage at the city connection point(s). No inspection permits pull, no inspections what so ever. Now there is a constant blockages at the my drain line to the city connection. Naturally, they won't honor any of their work. Just take the money and run and do a half ass job in the process. This company will not stand behind their workmanship. Horrible. Never use them for anything ever. Don't let them near you home ever or in. --------------------------------------- 03-24 Still waiting on someone to take actual responsibility for a messed up main drain sewer line install. Only been installed for 6 years and failing to drain correctly. Constantly back ups in the basement. This company is a rip off. Plain and simple, they could care less about any of their work. No quality standards, extremely poor customer service and don't call us we'll call you attitude, but the never do. No response what so ever and bad warranties. Avoid them like the plauge. ??Don't let them near your home.

On Wed, Feb.7, I called Roto-Rooter for a cleanout of my slow, functioning sewer line. The technician came same-day, 5pm, and quoted me at $650, which seemed high but I agreed to. He got his line stuck 40 ft in, he was unable to retrieve it, and so had to return the next day to try and retrieve it. Giving me the night without the ability to flush the toilet. On Thur, Feb.8, the tech returned with his team leader, and the team leader tried to retrieve the line, unsuccessfully. They then called another team lead to locate the stuck line. It was located under my driveway. I was then informed that I could pay them $5100 to cut a hole in my driveway to retrieve THEIR equipment, or they could leave it in there, and my house would be condemned. So I signed, under extreme duress, and under an implied threat of house condemnation. They assumed that I had a collapsed sewer line that had "grabbed" their line, but my sewer line was fine. It was full of roots, which their line had gotten stuck in, but nowhere was it collapsed. They did not finish the job until Fri, Feb.9. I now have a running line, and a new sewer line cleanout in my driveway, but it's filled in with gravel, and they didn't even try to make the gravel level with the concrete. They didn't even clean up the paint they put in the street and the driveway and the yard. On Friday, I tried to find ways to get a discount, considering it was their machinery they were recovering. Charge me for the cleanout and the new piping, but not for the excavation and retrieval. I even offered to do the cleanup of the dirt and concrete myself if that would save me some money. Got nowhere, not even $100 discount. The manager would not even give me $100 for getting HIS equipment stuck in MY sewer line. An extremely unpleasant person, felt like I was talking to a ** *** member. This company will destroy your house and then grossly overcharge you to fix it. DO NOT LET THEM INSIDE YOUR HOUSE!
