When I was explaining what needed to be done, I told the plumber that I needed the dishwasher installed and a new garbage disposal installed. I was initially quoted $893 for this and it was in line with other estimates that I had received for the same scope of work — in fact, it was in line with a previous estimate I received from Plunger Plumber in November of last year, so I pulled the trigger and had the work done, since the plumber said he was available today.
The garbage disposal was installed but the dishwasher wasn’t turning on, so I asked the plumber if he had hooked it up. He said that he hadn’t touched the dishwasher. I was a bit confused by this so I took the dishwasher out and made sure the drain was at least hooked up.
The plumber connected a hose to the disposal but hadn’t connected the hose to the dishwasher, which is now leaking into the basement.
I’m now being told they no longer install dishwashers.
I just want to repeat: There is now a hose connected to the garbage disposal that leads into the basement, completely disconnected at the other end.

The previous estimate we had left was to install a customer supplied garbage disposal, a customer supplied dishwasher and repair your drain. At that time neither of those items were at your residence. The current project you agreed to have us do was to install a garbage disposal that we provide, properly vent your kitchen drain and bring it to code and to hook up the drain for the dishwasher. The dishwasher was already installed and mounted. It was not explained to our tech that the dishwasher was not hooked up beneath it as we had no reason to believe otherwise because the dishwasher was mounted and appeared installed. We then had an agreement for the misunderstanding. While we understand that does not mean you can’t leave a review we feel it should be known that we attempted to make a situation that was not our fault right. We provided an estimate with clear tasks on what we are doing. You accepted it we then completed the work, we addressed your dissatisfaction with the dishwasher while you even acknowledged how you miscommunicated the dishwasher, we gave you a discount and you said that was good. You then called we asked you what we can do to make it right we attempted to make it right by further discounting the project and that was declined and we were told there is nothing we can do to make it right. We never charged you to install a dishwasher. We appreciate the opportunity to work for you. We wish we could have came to a better conclusion. We have also called to schedule a return to cap off the disposal where they hose is currently attached. We left a voicemail and have not yet had a call back.

I booked this company to clear the drain in my driveway. I probably payed more than I should have but the guy that came out was really nice and I decided to have him do it. (I give this guy specifically full stars, no issue with him whatsoever.)
To do the work, a 2nd guy had to come out. I mentioned that we get a bit of moisture through the basement walls during heavy rain. He checked out the basement and then quoted me for exterior waterproofing at $34,000. He gave me a whole spiel about how important it is that I get this done. I said thanks but I cannot agree to that today and would call them back if I want to move forward. He did NOT want to take no for an answer. He tried offering to take off the amount that I had paid for the drain if I signed today. I asked if I could keep that offer through the end of the week, he said no, today only. I told him if I decide to do it, I would call him back.
After they left, they called my partner who had made the appointment but was not home when they came to tell him they might be able to bring the price down.
Their sales tactics were extremely predatory and if I didn't know better, there is a good chance I would have fallen for it.
Since then, I have already been able to get 2 quotes, both of which told me they would be happy to do the work but my house does not need it. I have red brick foundation that naturally sweats. It had been painted before we bought the house. It's apparently not supposed to be painted and if it hadn't been I probably would not have even noticed the moisture because it would have evaporated. Both of these companies told me to scrape the paint off, clean my gutters, and get some mortar cement from Lowes and repair the mortar myself. I asked out of curiosity, what they would charge me to do the full exterior waterproofing and both quoted between $20K-30K.
So maybe try booking with ********* ******** or ***** ******* instead. They will not try to unnecessarily strong arm you into crippling debt.

We apologize that you feel this way. We respectfully disagree with much of your concerns. Our technician Matt was informed by you that you had concerns with water coming in through your walls with heavy rain. We took a look at your concerns and found clear evidence of moisture coming through the walls. Additionally we scoped your downspouts and found there are no existing footers tying in to the storm sewer. We respected your decision to not do anything about the additional work and answered all your questions. We asked to speak with your husband to insure everyone was on the same page and to specifically avoid any misconduct. We called to let you know we could cut some cost off the project due to the fact the basement is 5' deep, which would in fact put us within the figures you have from other companies. We would love to speak to you about your concerns as we have tried to call already we invite you to call us back to speak to us about any issues.
