Hello. I went through the drive thru and spent 16.88. My debit card was charged 168.88$ . The **** ** ******** **** said it was a mistake and I spoke with their owner ***** . However Huntington Bank which is my bank took out the 168.88. I received my money back at first but then they took it out again. I have spoke to Huntington corporate several times and they want a receipt. I do not have a receipt but the manager at **** *** ******* can show the charge that I did not spend 168$. Huntington is not willing to even contact the manager at the gas station. I’ve seen numerous reports filed against the bank. I’m seeking your help because I have tried everything and I believe the bank is fraudulent. I have never spent over 50$ at a gas station in over 10 plus years. I cannot produce a receipt I do not have but the gas station has proof of my charge. This occurred on December 27th and I’m still dealing with this. Please call or email me back. I have sent the letter Huntington sent me. I finally spoke with **** **** yesterday after they closed the case again. I want to keep it open with you guys if she doesn’t do what she says she will. She was shocked that they said they never received either of the 2 contest letters I sent them. Plus, she said the info she requested about my case 2 weeks ago she never received. Plus, the banker I met with who told me they received my first letter of contest basically lied because the letter was never received. Seems like a lot of lying is going on.Business Response

A bank account and credit card were opened fraudulently in my name and I have not been able to speak to or contact anyone who could have helped resolve the issue. Trying to speak through third parties and not getting anywhere. I have been going around in circles trying to get answers with no luck. Now they are going through a collection agency to recover funds from purchases on these accounts not made by me. For the past 6 plus months, I have been calling different numbers given by numerous bank associates and customer service departments and no one is able to help. They take notes and say they will pass it on and that I will be contacted. Never, not once have I been contacted through phone, email or by mail until recovery notices were sent to me via mail. I have been speaking with a customer advocate who has informed me via phone that the complaint I have with Huntington Bank concerning a credit card with disputed transactions on it, would not be resolved. They say they cannot prove the charges on the credit card were or were not make by me, but because there were similar charges on my bank account a year prior, they believe the charges on the credit card were mine. They decided that it is my responsibility to pay for the charges even though we disputeed the charges on the day they happened, and they had the opportunity at that time to investigage but they did not. Now almost a year later becasue they can no longer retrieve their money, they are forcing us to pay since they will not be removing this from my credit report.
I would like this to go under as a complaint against Huntington Bank. Poor customer relations and does nto stand by their credit card policy.

I have banked here for over 6 months have deposited many checks. Now for some reason they are holding every check I deposit which is ridiculous they are printed checks from verified corporate accounts. Now my last check was my payroll check that was issued because Huntington didn’t accept my direct deposit from my employer. I deposit my check surprise surprise it’s held then my teller said it will be available the next day now I’m getting an email my pay check it’s getting held till the first. Is Huntington going to pay the late fees on the accounts I can’t pay that are due before then? Is Huntington going to buy me groceries and gas for the week I’m going to have to wait. No they are not I demand my printed payroll check be deposited in my account immediately or I will be closing this account and never doing business with them again.Business Response

Huntington is allowing me to open accounts and then later closing the accounts (both personal and business) without any explanation.
After a phone call to Huntington, I was told there is some "risk" of me having an open account but Huntington would not explain what that risk is.
It is find for Huntington to refuse to have an account with me; that is their choice.
But Huntington cannot be allowed to close an account due to some unexplained 'risk' and refuse to tell me what the risk is in explicit detail.Business Response

I received a fraud alert like I have had in the past. The text chain and phone number are valid Huntington numbers. When I called it took me to the ********** Huntington Bank Call Center. The agent answered answered and said "Hello, give me your social security number". I did not think that was appropriate, or in conjunction with Huntington Banks policies.
I contacted a branch and they verified fraud happened and my card was shut off due to too much time elapsing without a response to the text. They were unable to find the number in their system. This number is valid it is the same number that dates back, according to my texts and previous interaction since at least Friday October 22. 2021.
I contacted the toll free number to inform them. The supervisor obviscated and claimed this was not afiliated with Huntington Bank. I wasted 2.5 hours of my valuable time addressing this concern with no help. The agents simply wanted to get me off the phone which should be evident by the recorded phone call. The supervisor then told me that there is no way to report fraud or to speak to the fraud department.
According to the supervisor customers are to report fruad to an agent who will then act as an intermediary.
I am concerned about my account safety. The same thing happened to **** when using overseas call centers. The employees were stealing information and gathering social security number to track packagea they claimed. They then used the information gathered to commit identity theft.I will be closing my account and banking elsewhere as Huntington has acted inappropriately, in my opinion, when this was presented to them. I want someone in a position of authority within the bank to view this information and take action.
It is very sad I had to resort to the extreme by filing a complaint with the BBB in order to do that.

I reviewed my Consumer Reports and noticed that there was an inaccurate account(s) on my credit report

Consumer Reporting Agencies have assumed a vital role and have a responsibility to report Consumer information to the best of their ability with maximum accuracy.
I contacted "Huntington National Bank" and asked for them to investigate & remove the inaccurate account from my consumer report that they are illegally reporting and I requested specifically the alleged original application bearing my signature and they have not been able to provide such proof to me.
This is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and these disputed items may not appear on my credit report if they can't be verified by any evidence or proof.Business Response

Huntington overdrew my acct taking more than what they should have, when I spoke with a supervisor I was yelling and crying because I had no money and they were going to take 10 days to refund the money THEY took. When I went to log in the next day my acct was ‘force closed’ and they’re mailing me a check for what THEY think they owe me, not allowing me access to any of my funds OR transaction history to show proof of fraud!!Business Response

I purchased a vehicle and used Huntington Bank for the loan. When the first bill came I paid the loan off in full. 2 months later we still haven't recieved another bill or the title. Now they have called me 2 times demanding that I pay another 295.00 "FOR INTEREST". We have bought vehicles in the past and done the exact same thing and never have we had as much trouble as we have with Huntington Bank. We will NEVER use them again for anything.Business Response
