Nothing against my insurance agent. Filing a claim through this company, though, was quite an ordeal. I do not think nationwide is worth anyone's time. Car was totaled. Filed a claim through nationwide. Received an UNDERVALUED amount, but, I ended up settling because I wanted to be done with this company. "But wait, there's more." According to my GAP insurance they neglected an item on the valuation report (not surprising) and now my GAP claim payout is being delayed. Just when you think it's finally over... Would not recommend.

Terrible. Quoted me $307.88 only to send me information less than a month later it’s now $453.36. No accidents EVER, no claims EVER, no policy changes at all, nothing. Even hooked up a smart ride that is on track for 30% off. Oddly around the same amount they just raised my premium. Only to spew off some BS about this or that. How these people get away with this is disgusting. It’s criminal. This is literally the definition of bait and switch.

If you love your pets choose any other company. I paid monthly premiums for my 13 week old cat until his premature death a few weeks ago. I had a major medical plan with a wellness rider. The premium was $35/month. When he became very ill with a serious kidney issue, Nationwide Pet only paid $1700 of the $6000 bill. To make matters worse, no one was available to discuss coverage on a Sunday when he was so sick. I made the difficult decision to euthanize him. The amounts that Nationwide reimburses don't really help. My cat needed an additional procedure and the cost was between 15-20 thousand dollars. I couldn't afford it, especially not being able to talk to anyone from Nationwide regarding coverage. The experience was traumatic for our family. When I called to cancel the policy I explained what happened to the young woman on the phone. She was anxious to get me off of the phone because she didn't like my criticism of how Nationwide handled the situation; I could hear her trying to hold in her laughter. Nationwide is NOT on your side. We now have a new policy with ******* and it covers 90% of everything after we meet the deductible, plus dental, plus exams and wellness. It's a little more money, but worth it. I bought insurance for peace of mind and Nationwide failed my family. They could care less about anything but their profits, and their employees are heartless.

I am paying for roadside assistance but can never get anybody. Nobody shows up and nobody answers the phone. This is some bs and they know it. I don't want to give any stars. You wait for hours and nobody shows up.

I wish I could give this place negative 'stars' I am not certain if they are totally incompetent, or crooks. I am leaning toward the latter. I have been trying since mid February to get my retirement funds rolled over to my local Credit Union, and have been told multiple different stories each time I've contacted them. First it would be 5-7 days. Then 7 to 14 days. Then, oh, we are understaffed. Two months later, they are still 'working' on getting my portion (principal vs interest) figured out. Supposedly, they 'mailed' the employer portion to my CU on March 19th, but I have yet to receive it. First Class mail DOES NOT take ten days! I do not believe it has been mailed at all. And they also refuse to mail these large checks with tracking numbers. What a surprise, since they couldn't lie about mailing it then. So now I am LOSING a lot of money because I can't convert my money into a CD or Money Market, but I'm sure Nationwide is earning lots of interest on MY money while they lie and stonewall me. I wish I could afford an attorney, but my savings account is rapidly depleting while they refuse to send me my money. I am sooo stressed out that I am having chest pains at night because of this. NEVER NEVER EVER do business with Nationwide. They could teach the scam centers in India how to lie and cheat even better than they do already. You've been warned.

I have had satisfactory service from Nationwide. In the course of about five years I have needed to file 3 claims and each of them turned out well for me in the end. Not to say that I didn’t have to have all of my paperwork in order and know what to ask for, but I found the people at Nationwide are trained on how to help me, and willing to help me. And I really appreciate that in any insurance company! I appreciate talking to a live person anytime I call in during working hours. Want to give a special thank-you to ******** *** and her boss and the team there who recently helped me after I was rear-ended by a much larger vehicle.

Prospective Home Owner Insurance Customers should evade Nationwide Insurance and it's affiliates because they will not help you when you have a community disaster like ours.
We had a gushing wind damage that impacted all properties in my community built in 2014.
9 individual homes out of the 12 most impacted homes put in claims and 8 of these house got their roofs replaced but I was initially denied and later called to speak to the supervisor ***** ****** and request to have someone inspect my roof again. They later sent me an email that 7 shingles had wind damage and they will replace those partial shingles.
I asked for the copy of the inspection report but it's since been dead silence and I have called the supervisor few times and no call back since then. Weeks had passed and all I saw in the mail was a check for the partial replacement of 7 shingles for $2,326
Nationwide - I replaced 2 previously blown off shingles that caused a leak through my roof into my home onto my living room rug. I never called you then because I am a responsible home owner who takes care of his home and not have to wait for you.
To let you know, I have another blown off shingle currently sitting in the gutters, visible to me when I look out from the Master bedroom (Still there, wish I could put pictures here).
If truly it's only 7 shingles affected on our roof, how could 8 houses of the 9 get approved for a full replacement based on the same wind that damaged our roofs?
Prospective customers looking for a good insurance company I will recommend going with Geico and it's affiliates or any other non Nationwide Insurance companies.
Why did I mention Geico- I know of 2 families who just purchased their homes in our community in the past 2 years. They had Geico and they had a full roof replacement too but for us who were original home owners insured by Nationwide for 9years without any previous claim got approved to replace 7 shingles. This is so ridiculous.

I had started a 1035 exchange on my daughter UL policy, due mostly to the NATIONWIDE REP saying there would be no surrender fees. I did not want to surrender the policy I had been contributing to.for my daughter especially as this fall I was to increase my monthly contributions. I found out later that I would lose the entire value due to - you guessed it! Surrender fees. I spoke with several people on this matter was given verbal confirmation over the phone several times the transfer would be stopped and was stopped. Only for them to do the exchange anyways. I lost what I had started building for my daughter. I called back when I realized this happened against what I, AS THE POLICY OWNER ASKED FOR, AGAINST WHAT THEIR LICENSED REPS HAD ADVISED, and haven't heard anything. I feel as though I was stolen from, I feel as though these people aren't knowledgeable about their products and procedures, I would've been happy with a simple idk let me check for you. I didn't get this courtesy instead I was lied to. On the last call when I realized this happened, then and only then was I told "I should've sent an email even though the phone calls are recorded"

My truck was stolen on December 2nd 2023 and then recovered on December 6th wrecked. It is now March 20th 2024 and i still don't have my truck. Now they are saying the claim is closed. What!?? I don't even have my truck. How can they close a claim when they haven't even communicated with me or told me what were the damages? Where is my truck and how do I get it back? How is this even legal? I have had to rent trucks on two separate occasions out of my own pocket. I have lost thousands of dollars in lost work since i use my truck for my handyman business. This is a slimy, predatory, dishonest company. They are NOT on your side! Save your hard earned money and choose another company. Almost any company should be better then NATIONWIDE. Don't fall for cheaper advertised premiums. They are all junk. They won't make good on them either way or try any form of customer retention. I am 52 years old and have been driving since before I was 16. I have never delt with this level of disrespect, laziness and incompetence (***** ********) with an insurance company in my entire driving life. Thank GOD I never gave them any investment or retirement funds or my homes. Some of the reviews about that are terrible. I hope this review helps other good people from becoming NATIONWIDES next victim.
