    I contacted Steam Brite and made an appointment to clean the carpeting in my just purchased home, after seeing their ad and BBB accreditation. After touring my home, it was advised that I purchase the scotchgard. The crewman pointed out that the carpeting on the main level was high quality and would last an additional 10 - 12 years. I reluctantly accepted the scotchgard when presented a "deal". After the work was completed in a hastily manner (the 2 crew members were betting how quickly it could be done) I asked the same crewman about the condition and quality of the carpeting, to reassure myself that I had made a wise decision about the scotchgard. I expected him to repeat what he had told me initially about the carpeting. However, his response was completely opposite, now telling me that the carpeting on the main floor was already 10 - 12 years old, and not the high quality that I had been told earlier. Had I been given honest and accurate information at the point of sale, I never would have agreed to purchase the scotchgard protection. This experience has left me feeling duped and taken advantage of, possibly for the purpose of someone receiving a spiff for selling me scotchgard protection. I am seeking a refund of the scotchgard protection, in the amount of 166 dollars.

I spoke to ***** and *****, the 2 techs who were at your house. *****, the lead tech, was the one who recommended the Scotchgard. This is optional but our technicians may recommend if they think it would be a benefit to you. According to *****, he recommended replacing the carpet in one room upstairs. Please give us a call at ************ when you can. We have left several voicemails without a return call. Thank you

    I am rejecting this response because: Steambrite has failed to offer a refund of charges for the scotchgard treatment. I was never told that the carpeting needed to be replaced. In fact, I was told that the carpeting had an additional lifespan of 10 to 12 years. I feel that the condition of the carpeting was  misrepresented to me in order to sell the scotchgard. I do not wish to speak to the Steam brite people about this issue.
