On 11/06/18, BBB accreditation was suspended due a civil lawsuit filed by the State of North Carolina on 10/17/18 against defendants Scott L. Lacey individually and d/b/a Scotts Tree Service, and Randy Lee Shannon, and due to the company's failure to to respond to a BBB request sent to the company on Oct. 30 requesting a reply within 5 days concerning information that would help BBB evaluate the company's side of the story concerning the seriousness of the government’s allegations. Due to these matters, the company and its principals are not currently meeting BBB Accreditation Standards to:

The company has until Nov. 16, 2018, to appeal this action.
The matter will be reviewed by BBB and the BBB’s Board of Directors as needed. The Board’s next two meetings are currently scheduled Nov. 27 and Dec. 18, 2018.
