I had a service issue with a regional franchise, in Ohio. My invoice # ******. I required svc on my LQ dishwasher. July 28 the tech (****) was out ordered parts. (He did not even check the drain pump, he just said it was bad and ordered one). He returned Aug 4 to install. My wife was here and unfortunately was not able to shadow him. I returned after he was done and had left. The job was incomplete, the machine parts left scattered on floor of kitchen, filter laying, a NEW code (AE) showing. He did not tell my wife why or if he was returning. I called the regional office only to find out they thought the job done. I sent them pictures to the regional office and corporate HQ and they "will try and get someone out" To this date I have heard nothing and received no follow-up.Initial Complaint

I contacted Mr. Appliance in Dayton, OH to repair my GE dishwasher on June 14th. I was quoted a price of $373.53 for part and labor in which I went ahead with the repair. First red flag I should have noted was the tech didn't troubleshoot my dishwasher. He said based off what I described and from previous repairs they have done in my community he assumed it was the control board.
They ordered a control board that was supposed to be delivered directly to me and my repair was supposed to be done within that week. Well the part did not come that week so no repair. The next week the tech comes back to complete the repair. He gets here and ask for the part in which I didn't have it. It was delivered to his house. So of course they have to reschedule another repair for the following week. The tech comes back out and now according to the him the part is defected and didn't work. I personally believe he just guessed wrong and what he initially said was wrong wasn't. That was almost two weeks ago and present day no one has called to reschedule my repair. I have reached out to them several times, left several messages and no one has answered or returned my calls. I called them again July 7th from my friends phone and ****** answered right away.
I stated my frustration with the company and asked why no one was returning my calls. ****** stated they have been out of the office. I told her I wanted a full refund because it has been almost a month and my dishwasher still hasn't been repaired. She stated the managers were out of town and would be back Monday (today) and I could speak to them regarding a refund.
After speaking with her and what was noted in the system the tech lied to me. The part he tried to install wasn't defected he just guessed wrong and nothing was wrong with my control board. The tech supposedly was ordering a different part to try but again to date hasn't. Clearly the tech is guessing and not qualified to repair my dishwasher.Initial Complaint

I wish to file a complaint with you. My husband checked and found no complaints at the Better Business Bureau for Mr Appliance of West Central Ohio for service when our refrigerator stopped working the last week of March. The service provided was lousy. I wish to file a complaint for your records and I have also sent a copy of my complaint to the Ohio Attorney General, Consumer Service.
When the Mr Appliance repairman came, he didn’t check the refrigerator or even want it plugged in to listen to it. He said the repair would be $1,100 and the job could be done by the end of the week. He said the cost was mostly for parts, which would be sent directly to our house, and could be installed three days later, seven days at the most.
When I asked about payment he said the company required full payment in advance. I was asked to sign something on his computer but was not given any other information.
I had company coming for Easter and needed something done quickly so I gave him a check for the full amount. A copy of an agreement, with other conditions on it that were not provided to me initially, was emailed to me later. The check was cashed the following day.
No parts were delivered by the promised date. I called and they said they were now coming from California. They arrived a week later, shipped from Huntsville, AL to Louisville, KY before finally being shipped here.
When I called wanting to know why the repairman hadn’t come to install the part as scheduled I was told their system didn’t indicate delivery of part. I told them I had the part and when no one showed up on rescheduled repair date I called again and was told the repairman was off that day.
Then a different repairman finally came and installed the part, it worked for one day only. By that time my spouse had looked up the part and cost for it was about $200 retail.
When I complained to Mr Appliance, the repairman later came back and replaced another part. He said he found a hole in the original part but, but then, in putting in this replacement part, he burned holes in my kitchen floor.
This second part only worked for a day and my refrigerator was non-fiinctional again. This time the repairman said it could not be repaired.
Both he and the office clerk who answered my phone calls said they would have a resolution for me in the next day or two. Their “resolution” has simply been to take my $1,100 and leave me with a burned kitchen floor and a non-functional refrigerator.
I believe the second repairman was knowledgeable. The second part was probably worn out but why should I pay for the first part and installation for something that was working perfectly well? However, neither part worked, and he damaged the kitchen floor too.
Surely it’s not the first time Mr Appliance ever repaired a refrigerator. Why not put something down to protect the customer’s floor? Answer: Why bother? The fine print in their agreement says the company isn’t responsible for other damage.
I think this is an overpriced scam to bilk the consumer out of whatever they can get away with. And that’s exactly what they did to me.

My tenant has a malfunctioning clothes dryer and I contacted Mr. Appliance, which came to my building, analyzed the problem, and ordered and I paid for a $300+ part in early December. That part apparently went missing and another part was ordered later in December. I've asked for an explanation of where the 1st part went and when the replacement part will arrive, and have gotten no assistance from their dispatcher or customer support. I asked the parts department to update me on other suppliers of this part. I have called more than a dozen times on this over the past month plus. My tenant has not had a functional dryer all this time.Initial Complaint

I called Mr. Applicance on November 14th and scheduled an appointment for a dryer repair for November 21.
They called on the 17th and said their technician was on their way. I was an hour away at work and could not be home. I called back 3x and left a message; no one answered. My voicemail explained that I was not home and this was not the scheduled appointment day for them to come out.
I called again Friday, November 18th and was told they could come out today, if I wanted. I accepted and waited over 5 hours for them to come. They never showed or called me to explain anything. I called them again and was put on hold and then hung up on. I called back 6 more times and finally got through to a live person. She said it was my fault because I was not there on Thursday. I explained to her that my appointment was originally for Monday, not Thursday. She went to investigate and gave me a call back 5 hours later. She said she could reschedule it for Monday the 21st. No apologies given.
Monday came and went and no one showed, so I had to call again and again until finally getting ahold of someone. I was told their computer crashed over the weekend and they lost all appointments. After hours of talking and calling on the phone, I was never given an apology and was rescheduled for the following Monday. The technician was an hour early, I received no notice of this, and happened to pull up to my place as he was about to leave. He inspected my dryer and was told it needed a $500 part, I paid the $119 diagnostic fee, and I haven't heard from Mr. Appliance as of yet. I was never given an apology or money off the diagnostic fee for my time lost.
This will be the last time I use Mr. Appliance as I see now they are not accredited by the BBB.Initial Complaint

July of 2023 I contacted Mr. Appliance because my fridge was no longer cooling. They sent someone out who said the compressor was out. They ordered a new one, which cost me $950. It didn't come in for 10 days. Then **** came out on a Thursday and installed it and left. Within 10 minutes I could tell the fridge was not running still so I called to let them know. The man who answered said to allow it to run for a few more hours because it could take time to start cooling. I called back on Friday morning and told them nothing was cold, so he told me they'd send someone on Monday to come out and look at it. He also told be to unplug the fridge since we were going into the weekend. Monday they sent **** back out to check it. He said that the compressor must have blown the control panel when they plugged it in. He called the manufacturer who said they could not get the chip for it but to just send them control panel and they could fix it. He took it and said he was going to overnight it to the manufacturer and I should have it back by that Friday. The following week I called to inquire on the control panel and have got the run around ever since. I started calling twice a week and the girl would say she'll look into it and call me back and she doesn't. I have emailed them and called daily now and no one will get back to me. One of the calls, the girl said they'd just send someone out to my house to get the control panel, which they already had. I can't get them to return my calls or confirm that they have even sent the control panel to the manufacturer. I have been 7 weeks without a fridge. I have lost all faith in them all together and just want to go purchase a new fridge and be done with them.Business Response

Mrs. ******* initial repair had a defective compressor and inverter board attached. Our technician replaced the defective kit per mfg requirements and tested the operation with the customer after the repair. The next day it was discovered that when the compressor failed it also had weakened the main control board relay. At the time of repair this was currently working and had no signs of failure. Sometimes this can happen when a componet is replaced and because the new part is running at optimal levels. After discovering the failure we decided to cover the part as a courtesy for Mrs. ******. The part was ordered and on a BO status with the manufacturer. During this time the manufacturer discontinued the new part and it was required to be sent in for rebuild by their service center. We had to go back to the home and remove the defective control board and sent it in for repair. Mrs. ****** was advised of the status and the delay and we told her we would send her confirmation as soon as we received a shipping notice. Mrs. ****** has called in each day asking for updates and we have reiterated we would call her as soon as we heard from them. Today she was called and scheduled around the arrival of her part as promised.
Respectfully,
Mr. Appliance

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:Mr. Appliance has me scheduled for Sept. 30 to replace the control panel. I am not accepting any response until the fridge is actually fixed and running. (I hope I'm not just being put off to give them more time to complete this project.) Please note that once the new compressor was installed, the fridge still NEVER came on and STAYED on. It kept going on and off and beeping. That was why I called them back immediately that afternoon to tell them it still wasn't working. The MAJOR part of this complaint is because NO ONE was getting back to me to let me know what was going on. They'd PROMISE they'd call and then never did until I kept calling daily. All I was asking for was occasional updates since this whole thing began September 27th. It's just been extremely poor communications.
I'll know more this Friday.
Sincerely,
***** ******Initial Complaint

On 5/12/2022 I hired them to fix the oven door which would not unlock. I was told that they would need to repair the part and a new glass and gasket. It was scheduled for June 2nd, but he did not come until June 6y. He opened the box and it said additional work needed to be done. In this length of time they only got back to me once to tell me that they would call on Monday, which did not happen. I have left message after message for them and they have not returned them. I even left a message at corporate, still no return call. As of September 14th I will have been without an oven or microwave for 4 months. This is unacceptable. This has caused a lot of stress, as they were quick to collect $927.25 but have not yet given me a working oven. I have had to order a new oven combo as I need to be able to bake for the holidays. I would like all of my money back and an explanation as to why they refuse to return my calls. Each message was left with a human, not a recording. I will never recommend them to anyone. In several ways this has impacted my health as I was hospitalized on June 2nd and convinced the doctor to release me early so I could be there when the repair man was scheduled. I am a senior citizen with multiple health problems which are impacted by stress. I do not know what else to do but to file a complaint since they will not return my weekly calls.Initial Complaint

I called this company to schedule an appointment for warranty work for my ice maker on my Samsung refrigerator. The technician "reset" the ice maker (bucket was empty) and said "it is still not making ice". Of course it isn't making ice. She insisted that I needed a new ice maker. The work was under warranty by Samsung. Since I did not have the original proof of purchase on the date of this visit I was forced into paying for the trip charge and to order the part. I found the proof of original purchase and emailed this to the company immediately. They refuse to credit my visa for $365.71 and said I needed to call Samsung. After three days of calling Samsung, the supervisor from Samsung got on the phone and called Mr Appliance and told them they needed to refund my payment of warranty services. They told me her name was Lisa. The company is continuing to NOT credit my VISA for the work that is covered by warranty. Today, I went to check on the ice maker and it is working just fine! The reset of the ice maker worked. I no long need the part and the work this week to replace something that is working. More so, why would anyone think ice would immediately dispense when the science says that will take at least 8 hours! The company continues to not take accountability for their actions or refund my money. I will never use this company again.
