Late Sunday 5/14/23 purchased a AQUATOP FORZA FZ13 UV CANISTER FILTER for $266.— from Great Lakes coral for our 130 gallon fish tank that houses our Aquatic turtle. aquatic turtles require a area at the top of the tank for basking completely out of the water so ther must be a small 3-5 inch area at the top of the tank without water. Nonce the filter was installed we noted immediately two problems the filter had a strong humming noise which startled the turtle and also the filter itself required water be kept up to the top or would not function we tried the filter overnight and determined it would not work. My grand daughter (24 yrs old and works for ***** in Aquatics and in retail) repackaged the filter and attempted to return it on Monday 5/15/23. I was on the phone listening as the owner ****** wouldn’t take it back, loudly stating it had Been used, and he would have to replace the filters which would cost him a lot of money. My granddaughter asked to see the return policy where it states no returns once purchased on the receipt or in the store. He was not able to produce a return policy and we noted nothing like this was stated on the receipt. He was so loud and rude and scary when she asked, can I Then get An in-store credit for the amount, he again proceeded to raise his voice and yell I Can’t do that but might give you back $200. I asked to speak with him she handed him the phone he was yelling loudly, and stating “do I have to get the police involved with us” which was very scary for my granddaughter and also for me listening on the other end, I asked my granddaughter to please take the merchandise and leave. She stated grandma he took it out of the box and is running and water. I’ll have to wait until he gets back in the box. I told her just to Wait and get the merchandise back and leave the store immediately he in the background ****** the owner a grown man continued loudly to say I got this all on video. Hope. He did video we want our money back
