    On August 31, I pulled my daughter out of the Meneer School of Dance. In the letter sent to the Artistic Director, I firmly stated that I wanted a refund of my tuition deposit. I had already confirmed with an employee that I would be able to be reimbursed, as many families have left this school and had similar requests. Multiple attempts were made via text to contact the secretary of the School of Dance, which were ignored. I sent a written letter to the Meneer School of Dance on October 25th, again stating my request for a refund. I also let them know that if a refund was not sent, I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau. The total deposit paid was $315.

    Mrs. ***** insisted in her
    letter to the school that she must never be contacted again in any way – so we
    respected her wishes. Mrs. ***** was told numerous times to go through the
    proper channels in regards to tuition issues, which she did not. No employee at our school would have told Mrs. ***** that she could get her money back. She also
    stated that she would return our property which she had in her possession. She
    did not return these things until after this complaint was filed.


    The Meneer School of Dance’s
    registers students in May for the following year. All registrants sign a
    registration card which clearly states that the May Deposit goes toward the
    last month of classes and is NON-REFUNDABLE, should a child decide to quit for
    any reason.  Enclosed is a copy of Mrs.
    *****’s signed registration card; the same card which she has signed for 11 years.  In some instances, our clients
    are given permission to roll their May Deposit over to a second child who is
    still taking classes at our school. Each client is always treated with the same
    respect that we receive from our clients.

    In the spirit of “charity”, and because of the many financial woes of ********* ****** and the School of Dance, I will let this matter go.  It is a shame that so many families have been taken advantage of by this organization, financially, physically, and psychologically.
