In the fall of 2024 we contracted Erie Home Roofing to replace our roof, we paid 40k+ for upgraded material and what we thought would be an upgraded installation. The workers did a poor job and the roof was installed improperly with 11 mistakes in installation, it did not pass inspection. We have been calling ever since (for six months) requesting repairs, we get the run around, yes, today and yes tomorrow, but no one has showed up yet.Business Response

The dispute has been resolved, the company did the repairs and we are satisfied with their work. We will still have an inspection done but it looks like they did a good job the second time around. You can close the file saying we are satisfied. Thank you.Initial Complaint

They have been here many times for repairs! The guys they send out speak Spanish. They have ripped and tore my house apart! They destroyed my gutters, leaving them broken ,filthy, and leaking on 3 roofs. Smashed my siding. They did come out and replace one side gutter. The filth is black! On white gutters and I can not remove it. I messaged them yesterday than now the front roof was leaking. They did not respondthis morning we are woken at 8 oclock with pounding on the roof. He comes to the window and shows me a picture where it was leaking, showing that it was siding damage! The original roof install they sent out 3 Spanish speaking guy that worked incredibly hard. But they just ripped and tore everything apart! Just smashing everythingthey tossed my gutters in my garden. Left screws and nails all over my yard! I am devastated! Yes they will come out and repair every week but I will forever be fixing all the damage they done. The guy that was here this morning cant speak English. I told him the back roof was still leaking and he just smiled and shook his head yes "yes yes"he said. The new gutter on that front roof is leaking as well. This is brand new gutter installed last year. By Pro gutters in ******* **. And some gutters were older. I just can not communicate with these guys. I had no idea they had destroyed my siding till he showed me pictures. I have had enough! I want the v channel put around all the roofs like it should have been in the first place! I want the gutter and siding fixed cleaned/replacedand mostly I want them to stop the leaking that I wanted in the first place!Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution will be satisfactory if the work is done. When there is no more leaking.
They did quickly send out a gentleman that talks clear English and was useful in helping me understand the process of this roofing. I was mistaken when I assumed that the parts they were using were not up to par. Apparently they use the smaller pieces regularly to build the roof. I had assumed they would use one longer piece, and misunderstood them using the shingle size parts layered to shed the water. But I will be very Pleased when the leak is fixed.
Sincerely,

In april 2024 we hired Erie Homes to water proof our basement. We hesitated so they promised to enclosed our sub pump and please see below to see our experience.
- left the front door and garage door open x3
we were at work till much later and had squirrel nesting in there now (clearly a new development)
Sold us on new well system and subpump- then tried to say they weren't going to do that until we pushed back
Made us take apart the base of the stairs so they could drill- told us after the contract was signed.
Made us disconnect washer and dryer because they forgot the tool.
Set up crew broke the shelf off the wall
Told us to wait a month till it could be done. Told us wed-thursdsy is when they would come, came 1/2 day wed, did not come Thursday, and maybe came half a day on Friday.
Hot water pilot light is out now did they get water on it when they cleaned up? (Hired plumbers: was fixed)
They just shoved the white paneling that on the wall over the bolts that were in the wall. How is that air tight?(had to come back again to fix)
Trip hazard from acess point to French drain was way too close to stairs and is not flush with the floor ( had to come back to fix this too)
Covered our dryer vent and a window!!! with the white "water proof" moisture barrier. They did not even attempt to cut around it
We signed that the job was complete around a month ago and we still do not have physical proof of our projects 25year warranty.
After 3 months we are NOT SATISFIED with this job. This morning we got a heavy rain and the whole basement is so wet condensation is pooling down there again.
When I called I had to speak to a voicemail.
I will be taken legal action against Erie homes if they do not come back in a timely manner and waterproof the basement as promised. For the cost it should not be this difficult to get a company to do the job in a timely fashion and correctly.Business Response

Erie sales rep offered us free leaf guard for our gutter if we signed for a new roof immediately.
The roof was installed and gutter replaced - of which we were very satisfied with. But, evidently, the rep failed to include our leaf guard on his paperwork.
I called on and was told this, but the on May 9 said he would get someone out next week. It is now the end of June and no one has come. I contacted **** ******* early June and he has not responded.Customer Answer

Services were contracted and deposit paid in Feb 2023. Job was to begin immediately but vehicle issues pushed it back into March. The bulk of job was done. However a screen window to a crawl space was removed (and not put back) as well as a sink/was tub being disconnected leaving and open drain that was bringning up ground water, sewage etc. and they ungrounded a line in a spot they were working never regrounding it& the CO2 detector in my contract was never installed. After calling for several months and speaking to **** at corporate they were suppose to come out and cancelled multiple times because of weather or vehicle issues. When someone did come out it was 2 workers who didnt even know why they were ************* have tools. More calls, reschedules due to truck issues and the project manager came and fixed the sink but couldnt do the CO2 or ********** was told their electrician would be there asap that day or next but I had to fix/replace the screen since they lost it. Its been several days and supposedly no one can reach this electrician. This is a safety risk. They also never scheduled an inspection with the town so that permit remains open and the system unsafe and work incomplete in addition to many months of back and forth. I have a 25 yr warranty but am weary If on over 4 months they cant even complete the original job when I paid over 26kBusiness Response

ERIE ROOFING began and completed project without me signing the contract. ******(the sales rep) and I agreed to a price of $9600 with a down payment of $4500. After completion of project the Install Mgr. showed up with a bill for(approx) $27,000. There is no way I could or would sign a contract for that **** as my income is a $1050/mon. social security check plus maybe 3-5 days per month part-time work that is less than $500; and that is not every month. ****** emailed me a contract on 5/31/24 that I never saw and never signed. **** started the roofing project on (I think) 6/1/24 at 7:30am and was finished before noon. HOWEVER; his contract stated the project would take from 6/1-7/1/24. I think he padded the project length in order to justify the $27,000 fee. I can't imagine a 4-4.5hr 1200sqft fiberglass shingle roofing project costing $27,000. Also, I did find the original emailed contract and my signature was not on there, but, ****** emailed another contract a couple of days ago and my signature had been forged to the contract. It looked like initials, but, was jumbled so bad I couldn't read it. I can supply documents with my signature to prove that was not my signature on the 2nd contract ****** sent. I am looking for the following settlement:1. ****** be fired.2. Monetary settlement in in a court of law; OR...3. My down payment of $4500 returned.Thx for reviewing my complaint. I can send you a copy of the forged signature contract upon request.Business Response
Date: 07/03/2024
Erie Home conducted an internal investigation into the claims presented. Our findings indicate no evidence that the signatures on the contract were made by anyone other than the customer. Upon reviewing the DocuSign envelope, we confirmed that the contract was sent at 7:33 PM to the provided email address ***************************** reviewed at 7:33 PM, and signed at 7:37 PM. A signed copy was subsequently emailed to the customer at 10:32 PM. Additionally, we contacted the finance company, which indicated that there were no discrepancies.Initial Complaint

My new roof was installed 5-19-24. An installer put his foot thru the ceiling of my office while replacing a sheet of plywood on the roof. 5-21 called Erie and spoke with ******* explaining several problems such as requiring my signature on a completion form BEFORE THE *** WAS DONE, the accident in the office ceiling, and the irresponsibility of the salesmen to update his samples, (another ridge vent was installed unlike the one we were shown at the "sales pitch", I have a few more concerning "questionable" activities that *** require investigation, reference internal Erie email #********. 5-28 called again spoke with ************ and his district manager ? ********, who said he would call later that week for a visual of the damage, **** said he would be in contact with me regarding the repair. Sent a photo of ceiling penetration the same day to Bill who acknowledged receiving. No call, no show, impressive results from management isnt it? Guess I got the "down the street out of sight guarantee". Thirty days and nothing but blah blah blah. Accidents happen, its just the way things are. All I wanted was my ceiling fixed but now its been over thirty days, their customer service is disgusting, salesmen appear to misleading or misinformed, and because of the lack of confidence I have after speaking to "management", I wish I would have never done business with them. I cannot count on what they say because the lack of actions speak louder than their words. Apparetnly reliability is not a quality of this company, unfortunately time will tell if the warrantee I received is even worth the ink printed on the document. Hope for the best, unfortunately if you have a problem like this with Erie expect the worst. I really feel sorry for the founder, I am sure he would be disappointed in his employees.Business Response

In February on 2024, erie home came and installed a roof for $30,000. They stated that once the job was complete, they would send someone out to walk the roof and check the install. That never happened. When they left, i noticed that my landscaping lights were destroyed and a bush was destroyed. They also left material behind. In march i noticed that my shingles were not all laying flat and had a wave to them. I contacted them in march and was told to let them settle when it get warmer. I also told them about what they damdged and they said they would cover the loss. Still no one came to check on my roof. In May, i still had not heard anything and contacted them again speaking to a manager. He stated he would find out what was going on and send someone out to look at my roof. It has been almost another month, and no one has reached out to me. I feel like i was overpriced for the roof as other in my neighborhood are getting theres done for almost half of what i paid, and they have made promises to me before signing that have not been full filled. I have had to repleace my lights, landacaping and there is still material left at my house. My shingles are stll lifted in spots and no one will come out or reach to me. Please help.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Erie home has not been out to my residence as they stated nor contacted me like they said they would. They still have material left behind on my property from February. If they would contact me or come out, i could show them my concerns, but instead they lied and stated that they have been out here, when in fact they have not made any atempt.

I have a contract with Erie concerning fixing and or repairing any shingles on the roof that may have been damaged or have damage. Have called for a month and cannot get someone to come out and honor the contract. Someone came out and partially fixed the ridge vent and had to use my snips, did not caulk and said they would be back to take care of the other repairs and to finish the ridge vent. I call multiple times a day everyday and get no response.Business Response
