The BBB(BBB)has recently received numerous inquiries and complaints concerning this company. Consumers allege that after paying the company for an upcoming reunion, they were notified via e-mail that the company is no longer in business. The E-mail further states that the company will not provide the services for which the consumers have already paid the company. Consumer complaints also state the e-mail does not give any indication to if the consumers will receive any form of refund.

On September 29, 2006, Mr. Dan Weatherly of Reunion Makers personally responded by telephone to the BBB Serving Eastern Oklahoma's request for more information regarding the company's sudden closing. Mr. Weatherly informed the BBB that the company is currently seeking the advice of legal counsel on the possibility of and the issues surrounding the company filing for bankruptcy. He stated that no decision had been made on when, if, or where the company would file for bankruptcy. On advice of his legal counsel, he could not comment on the number of individuals possibly owed refunds or the number of class reunions which had been cancelled. He informed the BBB that effective sometime the week of October 1, 2006 that the company's telephones, website, and E-mail would no longer be functioning. In response to claims by some complainants that venues for the reunions had never been reserved, Mr. Weatherly emphatically stated that the company had booked all venues and had contracts with each venue. He stated that while each venue's contract has been cancelled, they were all initially booked and that he was willing to make those contracts available to the BBB for review. He stated he would notify the BBB Serving Eastern Oklahoma when a decision is made regarding bankruptcy. The BBB continues to receive complaints regarding this company and forwards any information it has directly to the complainants. On October 10, 2006, The BBB serving Eastern Oklahoma forwarded copies of all complaints it received prior to that date regarding Reunion Makers to the Oklahoma Attorney General's office. Consumers who have issues with Reunion Makers and are unable to receive any response from the company or its legal representatives may wish to contact the Attorney General's Office directly.
