    Put a deposit on a trailer in August of 2022. Company is no longer responding to emails and website is down. If there is a bond posted, would like to at least get some of my deposit back.

    In August of 2021 my wife and I put in an initial 15% deposit of $7,440 towards a custom off-road camper trailer (Overkills SO-510). We were told our camper would be completed by Spring of 2022, and we would be contacted within 60 days of construction of our trailer beginning to go over any final details, options, or substitutions and to pay the next 60% balance due with the final 25% being due at pickup. When I contacted Overkill in Spring of 22 I was informed that our trailer would be delayed and not completed until August of 22. We were later advised that rather than being completed by August that construction would not begin until August of 2022. On August 8, 2022 we payed $28,998 as the 60% second payment. After that payment we were told that construction would begin by October (within 60 days of that second payment). When we inquired if the camper would be ready by Thanksgiving we were told construction would begin in December instead. After not being able to get a hold of anyone with Overkill for over a month we were notified on January 24th of this year that construction had not begun yet, but that it would by the end of February to mid March at the latest. On March 26 we were notified that Overkill was moving all of it's production from a small custom shop in **** ****** to a large RV manufacturer in PA where all current and future campers would be built and that timelines would be further delayed. Overkill has initialized timelines which they had no ability or intention of meeting, have failed to maintain open communication, and by notifying us of their plans to have a new large scale manufacturer build our camper with additional delays have fundamentally altered the original agreement. This is all in bad faith, and Overkill has breached their contract by failing to begin construction within the 60 day timeline they set. I have put in a request for a full refund and although Overkill campers has responded they have refused to acknowledge the request.

    Reason for consumer complaint: To investigate Overkill Campers, LLC for not returning a refundable deposit of $7152.00 for a cancelled order.Overkill Campers, LLC is a manufacturer of off road camper trailers. The companys manufacturing facility is located at *****************************************************************. The web site for this company is:overkillcampers.com. Phone: ************ In early April 2022, *** and ******************************* contacted ***********************, production manager for Overkill Campers, LLC to discuss the process of ordering one of their off road trailers. At that time, ******* indicated that we will placed on the list for an August *********************************************************** November of 2022. In a phone conversation with ***************************************, ******* stated that a refundable deposit of $7152.00 would be required in order to be placed on their waiting list. *************************************** sent Overkill Campers, LLC a check dated March 21, 2022 for $7152.00. That check was deposited, by Overkill Campers LLC on April 5, 2022. Overkill Campers has yet to send a confirmation letter, receipt or any other correspondence documenting the $7152.00 deposit. Searching the web revealed other customers with similar complaints. May 12, 2022- production site visit with ******* discussion regarding refundable deposit July 29, 2022- *** sent a text message to ***** asking for a refund. ***** responded by saying **** (owner) will be contacting you next week August 15, 2022, *** requested by way of an email to *******, that our deposit be returned. August 22, 2022, A return receipt letter was sent to Overkill Campers agent, the production facility and *********************** requesting return of deposit. On September 7, 2022, ******* sent an email saying they are processing our refund as soon as possible. On September 13, 2022, ******* replied in a text message that our refund had been mailed. We have yet to receive any correspondence.
