Paid for a 6 mo subscription to read one article. Attempted to cancel subscription immediately after reading the article via email and via mail. They require you to call I am deaf I cannot call. Not acceptable or accessible. They have attempted to take another monthly payment subscription. I have requested it be cancelled. Should not be legal.

I subscribed to the Corvallis Gazette Times almost a year ago, and went to cancel it after a month. However, the 'cancel subscription' option on their website does not work. I sent messages to staff listed on the website about my request to cancel my subscription, which was unanswered. The 'cancel subscription' page also indicates to call customer service, but there is no customer service number listed. Calling the Corvallis Gazette Times number would never yield an answer. This company uses predatory practices in order to keep people subscribed.

I signed up for the Corvallis GT E-edition with a special offer of $1/month for an intro period. I can't remember the exact date but that dollar was charged to my account on 5/1/23. I tried to use their website to cancel, but it says I have to contact customer service. When I called customer service they said there are no available representatives. There was no apparent way to cancel this subscription. Finally on 7/10/23 I reached a representative. The representative asked me an exhaustive list of questions, including personal questions, until I finally said I just wanted to cancel my subscription and I wanted to do it now, no more questions. She said she would. I was charged $10.99 on 7/25/23 and $10.99 on 8/25/23 and I am currently stuck in the loop again.

I signed up for the Corvallis GT E-edition in January 2023 with a special offer of $1/month for 6 months. After 6 months the rate will go up to $10.99 (effective 7/27/23). I no longer want the subscription and I am trying to cancel, but they make it very difficult to do so. I tried to use their website to cancel, but it says I have to contact customer service. When I call customer service they say there are no available representatives. There is no apparent way to cancel this subscription.

I would like to cancel the paper, which cannot be done through their website. Repeated calls during stated business hours (M-F 6:30am to 5 pm) have led to the recorded phone tree saying "We can only do this during normal business hours". I consider this a fraudulent business practice.

I have a subscription with the Corvallis Gazette Times that auto renews. I received today (4/3) a letter dated March 13 that the cost of my subscription is going up and if I wish to cancel I must call ************. That is a number that leads to a robot answering system that leads you to options. When you select "cancel" it tells you that it can only do that during business hours which they say are until 5:00 pm. It was 3:20 pm when I called. I then went to their website and dialed the number there. That number led me to the same robot answering system. I then logged into my account and saw that there was a place to cancel your subscription. When I clicked that link, it said I needed to call customer service. There is nothing on the website labeled customer service, so I assume it's the same number I called previously. This sounds exactly like the subscription scams that have been reported on recently in the national media.

I receive both the Corvallis Gazette Times and ********************** Online versions which I originally signed up for on a promotion of $11.99 each. I tried to cancel them both 6 or 7 months ago and gave up when the websites both had the "cancel subscription" links down and I was repreatedly unable to reach anyone on the phone. This last month, the promotions ended and the rate was increased to $17.99/month per publication. I received letters from each publication insuring me i could cancel anytime by simply giving them a call. The same scenario has occurred as the last time I gave up trying to cancel my subscriptions: the website cancelation links are down on both sites and the phone service states it is after hours and refuses to put me through to an actual human, even though I have called mid day. I have had to cancel my credit card and have a new card sent to me. I should not have to go through this level of hassle, which seems to be intentional, just to cancel a newspaper subscription. Very shady business practices, in my opinion.

I have a digital subscription. They recently raised their prices. I have been trying to cancel my subscription for several weeks. Then only way to do it is by phone. I have been put on hold for every call and no one ever answered. I also requested a call back and no one ever returned my call. Meanwhile, I got charged a monthly fee. This is wrong!

I have been trying for a week to cancel my e-subscription to the Corvallis Gazette Times, but they only allow you to cancel via phone. I've called on multiple days, stayed on the line for over a half-hour each time. No one answers. I've used the "get a call back" option, and no one has called me back. There is no voicemail option ever offered. I do not see a contact email address. I would drive to Albany and go into their office in-person for help, but their website also says their office is closed to the public. If I do not cancel by a certain date (which cannot be found on their website in my account information, that I can find, anyway) then I will be auto billed for a service that I do not wish to continue, but it appears to be impossible to cancel. This seems like it should be illegal. I feel like I've been scammed by my local paper into an eternal subscription by signing up for their promotional price and then being unable to cancel by any means.
