10/2/2023 - present.Crating and shipping agreement was made to crate and ship an Ettan ********************** with stand, 280+ lbs., from *********** to ************, **. made with *************************, Craters & Freighters-******, T-************ prior to 9/25/23 (first date of email). Payment received 10/6/23. The press should not have been disassembled in preparation for shipping. It left the apartment in *******, **. in perfect condition with the complete press on top of the stand. It was wheeled out to the truck with no special requirements, which was agreed to verbally, prior to the pick-up. It should have arrived at the final destination in the same condition it was in at the time of pick-up. The 280 pound press should never have been placed on a 3/8" width plywood shelf at the bottom of the stand. The press stand was built with 1- 4"x4" x 25 1 /2" (H) posts at 4 corners with supporting 2"x4" studs and 2 - 3/4" x 28" x 48" sheets of plywood at the top to support the weight of the press. I agree to the estimate provided by ***'s Home Improvement since the issue is not just the stand that was damaged, but the reassembly of the press itself and its placement to the top of the repaired stand and the possible need for a third worker to handle the weight. I agree that we will only use the same materials that were damaged. There is actually another issue of having the press examined by a press technician AFTER it is replaced on the stand because he will not be able to calibrate the measurements and pressure for this type of press until it is set up properly. I am hoping that no possible damages were made to the press itself. I am not sure if an additional cost will result in the event the press needs repairs or adjustments due to the faulty crating.
