    I attempted to cancel my gym membership on December 11 2023. I called the gym, contacted the franchise, and stopped by the gym. I was told when I called the gym I needed to come into the facility to cancel my membership. I was told that I needed to come in and fill out paperwork and they would send in the paperwork but it may still take a couple of months to process, which I would continue to be charged for. I asked that the paperwork be sent to me because I work for myself and I wanted to limit the amount of time I would need to be out of my office. I was told again my only option was to come into the facility. I called corporate and was told that each gym independently determines how cancellations are dealt with and that I would need to contact them again. Since I was unable to cancel my membership through these other two options I canceled a meeting and drove to the gym, which I had spoken to someone at the facility earlier whom told me it was staffed until 6pm. I get to the gym at 1:30 and no one is there working. I called to see if I could get ahold of someone to come to the office to help me and my call was sent to voicemail. I have lost several hundred dollars of revenue trying to cancel my membership to still not be any closer to having it canceled.

    The same rules apply for all members and are in accordance with their contract that they signed. The same rules apply for all members and no member will get special considerations otherwise that would be considered discrimination towards others. All member contract require a 30 day written notice. We are able to email the cancellation form to the member and they can complete and email back to us.

    I am rejecting this response because: I requested to cancel my membership via email and was denied. I need to have received the cancellation form and have verification it has been approved. I would also like a copy of the contact stating I am required to provide a 30 day written notice in order to cancel with my signature agreeing to these terms. My original agreement which was one year was completed and I have not signed anything extending the terms of my agreement.

    Non compliance with my rights as a consumer are predatory.

    Before you spat off without remembering what you signed, next time just ask for a copy and we will gladly email you a copy of your signed contract stating all the facts that were presented here on behalf of the gym are indeed accurate.

    My spouse and I canceled our membership 3 years ago, suddenly two months ago anytime fitness and *** fitness Souris started sending ** bills for unpaid fees. They insist payment is due and they need a card, I offered final payment by check or cash and they refused. I don't feel safe giving them my card when they lost the cancelation documents from 3 years ago. I feel scammed that this debt they are threating to send to collections is undue.
