Government Actions
State of Oregon v Godofredo Lee Quiroz
The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.
On July 19, 2024, in the Circuit Court of the State of Oregon for the County of Linn, the State of Oregon and Godofredo Lee Quiroz, (“Defendant”) entered a Judgement. Defendant was convicted of Aggravated Theft in the First Degree. Defendant is sentenced to Supervised Probation for a period of 24 month(s).Godofredo Lee Quiroz is the husband of the owner of Canyon Auto Service LLC and serves as the lead mechanic.
Canyon Auto Service LLC and its owner Tamara Quiroz are not parties to the case or judgement.
On June 13, 2024, Defendant plead guilty to Count 1 of Aggravated Theft 1 to defrauding a customer by charging for work he did not perform on a hotrod that allegedly went missing under his care while working at Canyon Auto Service in Lyons.
Quiroz was arrested May 2 by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office after billing a Central Point woman for restoration of a 1955 Ford Thunderbird that he did not perform. An investigation revealed that between August 30, 2023, and January 4, 2024, while the customer was being billed for parts and services, the Thunderbird was not in the shop’s possession. At this time, it is unknown what had happened to the vehicle or where it is located. Since purchasing the vehicle, the victim paid over $10,000 to Canyon Auto Service, thinking the vehicle was being restored. The victim discovered the theft after Quiroz requested final payment but was not able to provide the restored vehicle.
