    Medford ********* (MAC or shop) diagnosed an oil leak on my vehicle in March 2024 and performed a vacuum brake booster pump and valve cover gasket (dual) repair on my vehicle. In May 2024, the vehicle broke down on the highway and was towed to MAC for repair. The repairs completed at this time were a turbocharger replace, engine wiring harness replace, and a valve cover gasket (dual) repair. The tow truck indicated a puddle of oil under the vehicle, which is consistent with a faulty/leaking valve cover gasket. In July 2024, the vehicle broke down out of state. The vehicle was towed to a **** Dealership with the soonest availability. The **** Dealership diagnosed the repair need as rewiring because the valve cover is leaking oil on the haut exhaust, [causing] the wiring to burn and melt together causing [electrical] shorts to exist. The **** Dealership completed its repair of my vehicle in August 2024. Its vehicle report includes the following technician assessment: It is apparent that the quality of workmanship that had been applied to the vehicle was less than substandard. Found the charge tube mounting bracket missing, after valve cover removal I found cylinder 6 spark plug tube seal torn. Cylinder 5 tube seal not set to correct height causing a no seal condition. Found old seal remains on spark plug tube. Most all wiring harness attachments ********** is clear that MAC billed us for inadequate and incomplete repairs, as well as faulty work leading to excessive out of pocket costs and personal inconveniences. There were less than ***** miles and 3 months driven between our initial complaint and the final repair. The timing, recurrence, and expense of all of this has placed considerable burdens on our family. We called the shop to seek resolution 3 times with no answer. On the 4th attempt (8/29/24), the phone was answered. The manager was not available and the issue was discussed with staff. Staff were unwilling to assist.
