I bought a bike from this business. Shortly after the warranty was up (after <3000 miles), I had to travel for 3 months, left the battery fully charged but when I came back it was dead. A local bike store said the battery was still charged at 93% capacity. So ****** said to send him the battery to repair the battery management system for $125. On 5 Apr 2024 at 13:25 he wrote he wrote "Your battery tested fine [...] Just need to stitch it up and send it on its way.". I thanked him 7 minutes later and didn't hear/receive anything for 9 days. Then I wrote to him and asked what's going on. I got no response at first but then an invoice, followed by "All set. Ready to ship today." I responded within 10 minutes w/ the request to send it and pointed out I had been waiting a long time for something that should not have broken anyway. His response was an email in which he lectured me that his service was beyond what most people would do and said he wouldn't send the battery unless I paid. I did pay the $125 & then he shipped the battery, but not really -- intentionally/vindictively or not -- he did not enter the apartment number of my address (although it's the same address he had sent the bike to earlier). **** therefore returned the shipment to him on 26 April 2024. He did not contact me again, but on 30 April I received a notification from **** that a shipping label has been printed, but as of 3 May at 13:27, he has not shipped the battery again and has not responded to emails.Bottom line: I bought a bike with a battery from him, but now he is not sending me my battery back although both battery and the repair were paid for -- the fact that he is unable to ship a package to an address already in the system is no my fault. In other words, I am currently out a battery, US$125 for its repair, and I have also not been able to use a 2K bike for weeks now. I have begun the process of retaining the services of an attorney; what this business is doing seems borderline criminal.
