I am currently seeking out other health insurance plans, even though I have a current plan with Kaiser, that is how bad the service is. For example, my current provider has been utterly useless in helping me address lower back issues. I have a prior history of outpatient back surgery, but have been in good health with my back for the last 7 years. Starting in the beginning of April 2025, my back began hurting in a similar way as it had years before. Given my prior history of surgery, and lack of success with physical therapy, I requested an MRI from my provider, just to rule out any disc issues I might be experiencing. She has refused to submit a request for an MRI, stating that I need to acquire physical therapy first, and in her opinion that this imaging is unnecessary. She has not physically examined me, has only looked at an x-ray, and we have had one singular telehealth phone call. I would be willing to schedule physical therapy, if it was at all possible to find an appointment. There is a single office in the entire city of ******** that is currently offering physical therapy through Kaiser, and they have no opening appointments. Not a single one. I check back on a weekly basis. The only recourse I have is to try to schedule a physical therapy appointment same day, which is difficult if you work full-time. Prior to discovering the nightmare of trying to schedule a single physical therapy appointment, my provider gave me incorrect information when I let her know that there was no upcoming availability at the one Portland Kaiser PT clinic. She told me to simply call any clinic that provides physical therapy in ********, and tell them that I am insured through Kaiser, and they should be able to fit me into their schedule, per Kaiser MD referral. What she failed to mention, was this would mean it was entirely out of pocket. So yeah, I can schedule a physical therapy appointment anywhere, but no one accepts Kaiser insurance. Would not recommend Kaiser to anyone.

From 2009 my husband and I have been Kaiser Dental patients with the same insurance plan that was provided to my husband from his company. We didn't have any problems with Kaiser Dental before 2024 and paid out of pocket only for crowns based on our benefits. In 09/23/2024 I had an appointment with my dentist who always provided great service that exceeded all my expectations. During my previous appointment, when I got a permanent crown, an adjacent tooth was damaged and my dentist fixed this problem. In October 2024 I received the bill for $111.00 from Kaiser that indicated provider ******** ****** L, ***. I contacted immediately with billing department to resolve this problem. I never ever had an appointment with ******** ****** L, DMD. If based on the Kaiser's believes I owe them this amount why I can't get a bill with my real provider? On Dec 18, 2024 I opened a grievance directly on the web. During my multiple conversations with Kaiser from October to December 2024 I got information that my plan " routine filling" include only silver filling. I should pay for white. If follow this logic all my family and I should get a whole mouth of the silver filling because we never paid out of pocket for routine dental appointments from 2009. Only paying out of pocket for crowns. The bill is a financial document that must provide the correct information and should be audited. I would like to get a full official description about my plan " routine filling" that includes zero out of pocket that we had during 15 years. I was notified on 1/15/25 that I no longer had Kaiser dental insurance and the cleaning appointment scheduled for 1/22/25 was canceled. My husband contacted with his insurance and confirmed we had and still have Kaiser dental insurance. I don't think it was a coincidence that my insurance was supposedly canceled in the Kaiser system on December 18th, the day I made my first complaint about this inaccurate bill.

Today 01/23/2025 I got an official response from Kaiser on my grievance that was absolutely not acceptable and included information that doesn't belong to my case. Also I had a phone call from the Kaiser Dentist office about existing problem and was surprised that my case was completely up side down. The Kaiser representative said that all smile area is treated now as cosmetic. My insurance covers now and in 2024 only the silver filling. My upper back tooth didn't have a silver filling, was fixed a few years ago by the Kaiser dentist with a white filling without extra charge and my insurance was the same. This tooth was damaged during my office visit on 09/18/ 2024. When ******************* made tooth ready for crown on 08/28/2024, his assistant put in a temporary crown, but this crown immediately fell down on the floor. She got success only on the second try. Then she gave to me the dental form for reason if this crown will fail again the emergency office can easy make me a new one. I still have this form at home. I believe that the assistant over used cement that caused the damage for my adjusted tooth on 09/18/2024 when the temporary crown was removed. We paid the bill for $111.00 on 01/23/2025 confirmation # *****Z and still believe that we were charged for work that was caused by Kaiser and should not have been billed for that work. The Kaiser representative said today she will verify our story and get back to us by next week. She said that Kaiser had waived the fees in similar cases in the past for damage they had caused.

Unfortunately we've been disappointed with Kaiser one way or another too many times in recent years. We've been with Kaiser over 20yrs.This time we requested birth control pills and were told we needed to make an appointment. We said we just want them to give us the pills which we can get for free elsewhere. They said to schedule a call so we did. In the call we just requested the pills again and were asked a couple of questions.Later we received a bill for $259 for an "office visit". I went back and forth with account services who just kept repeating simple words rather than respond in detail to my questions. They just kept saying it's a valid charge for an office visit. On their benefits page it said audio and video calls were free of charge. Apparently what I see on the screen is not my current benefit but rather after the deductible is met. It's been one bad surprise after another while rarely ever receiving the needed care. Usually takes months to address an issue. We go overseas actually for treatment and medical care rather than use our Kaiser insurance. The insurance itself and level of care is very disappointing. $259 to request free birth control pills is absurd. We would have never asked had we known. They can be obtained for free from many other resources.

Overpriced. Terrible service. Nobody's properly trained. The reduced their Urgency care hours to reduce operating costs, permanently screwing over people who need urgent medical attention.
      This place is the worst.

Today on Monday 2/6/2023 I had a Covid vaccination appointment scheduled for my daughter. After taking off work, driving to the Sunset clinic (about 1 hour for and back), and dealing with my 3.5 year old anxious daughter, I was informed that the vaccine was not available at the Sunset clinic and that I should just walk in on Saturdays at the Beaverton clinical for a shot. The word apology, sorry or similar was not used in that context. I find it unacceptable how you treat your patient's time and would like to know how I can get reimbursed for my time off work? I would have been surely charged for a no-show appointment, so I assume the same applies here. I have filed a complaint with Kaiser the same day and have not received feedback yet two weeks later. I cant believe that a company that receives pandemic credits and finanical support is mishandling Covid vaccinations this way. Case ID: ********.
