Received a certified letter from #1 reliable lien service in an attempt to file a lien and collect money for a vehicle that was sold on 9/17/23. In there own letter they say vehicle was left at ************ on December 2023, months after I sold the vehicle, my seller report is recorded with **************** on 9/17/23 and my license plate transferred to my new vehicle. Insurance companies notified. The letter is aggressive in trying to intimidate and scare people into paying when they do not really owe. listing total due $4850 for "services performed". Or they are trying to fraudulently put liens on people. In contacting #1 reliable lien, and notifying them that the vehicle was sold, they quickly say do not worry about a lien or that letter. Pretty hard to trust what they are saying when they say when they are sending out threatening letters that say that $ is due or they are going to put a lien.Similar to the other complaint left on the BBB

    Business Response

    Date: 03/15/2024

    Good afternoon,

I received an email from ************* that showed the sale of the vehicle, *** which did not come up on the report I received. I responded with "Thank you for letting me know, I will update the files to reflect this". She then sent a response asking if her name is clear and asked if she gets any thing to reflect that. I responded "yes you are clear of this lien but I do recommend going on the Washington *** to report it as sold.

I am trying to understand how someone could file a complaint when I was trying to help her clear this up.

When she called me yelling and screaming into the phone, I could not get a word in, she just screamed and yell and when I tried to tell her how the lien process works, she could not hear any of it because she was to busy yelling nasties.

The letter she received is not a threatening letter nor aggressive as claimed, it is a standard letter that I use to explain the OR statues, along with auction information for the liens. I send this letter out to all names from the *** that are linked to this vehicle and hers came up as the Registered Owner so she received the letter.  I tried to explain that the report I received did not have it updated, and appreciated her letting me know so I could update my file but again she was to busy yelling and then hung up on me.

I have been doing this for years and on occasion mistakes happen, this was easily fixed by updating files, nothing aggressive nor threatening
