On January 12, 2025, I purchased a **** Taurus from Dave Morton Auto Sales. I was assured by the dealership that the vehicle had been inspected twice and was in excellent condition. However, this was false.Five days after purchase, while my son was driving, the car broke down on a busy road. I had it inspected by a **** dealership, where I was informed that I had been misled. The engine contained thick oil, likely used to muffle internal damage, as well as metal shards. It was clear that no proper inspection had been conducted, and the vehicle had serious pre-existing mechanical issues that were not disclosed. When I confronted the dealership, the owner and general manager provided conflicting explanations. I was falsely told that data had been retrieved from the vehicle indicating my son was responsible for the failure due to high-speed driving. When I requested a copy of this data report, I was told no such report ********** resolve the situation, I was forced to pay for a new engine in order for the dealership to repurchase the careffectively making them more money by reselling the vehicle. After deducting the cost of the engine, I am still owed $5,095.This dealership has a history of deceptive business practices, as evidenced by multiple complaints across various consumer review platforms. I believe they are engaging in fraudulent misrepresentation and unethical sales tactics, and I urge the ************************ to investigate and take appropriate action to prevent further consumer harm.I request assistance in recovering the $5,095 owed to me and holding Dave Morton Auto Sales accountable for their dishonest practices.Thank you for your time and consideration.

Thank you for sharing your concerns regarding your recent experience with Dave Morton Auto Sales. We understand your frustration and appreciate the opportunity to clarify the situation.
We would like to emphasize that the vehicle was in working order at the time of purchase and had been inspected prior to your taking possession. Additionally, we offered you the option to purchase a warranty on multiple occasions, which you declined. While we strive to ensure every customer has a positive experience, purchasing a used vehicle without a warranty does involve some inherent risk.
Following your concerns about the vehicle's condition, we communicated with you consistently over text to find a resolution that would be fair to both parties. Ultimately, we agreed on a buyback arrangement that was mutually accepted. As part of this agreement, the cost of the engine replacement was factored into the final settlement. We believe this was a reasonable solution given the circumstances. At the time you agreed it was a reasonable decision as well only a month after you have cashed the check it has become a problem.
While we regret that you are dissatisfied with the outcome, we will not be making any further adjustments to the buyback agreement. Our goal has always been to work with our customers fairly and transparently, and we are confident that we did so in this matter.
We encourage you to reach out if you have additional questions or concerns.
    Sincerely,
    Dave Morton Auto Sales

I purchaseda vehicle from this dealership on 4/22/23. At the time of purchase they informed me they would take care of the title and licensing. Please not the car was paid for in full at time of purchase. After contacting the dealership multiple times regaurding this i was informed that the license plates and tile would be delivered to the dealership and they would call me to either pick them up or mail them to me. After speaking to them i contacted the ****** Department of vehicles and found that the plates and title had been issued on the 17th of May. The agent told me I needed to contact the dealership to obtain them as they were going directly to them. I have spoken to the dealership multiple times since then and they have given me no explanation as to where my plates and title are. The only thing they said is to question why i was in such a hurry to obtain them.

    Hello,

I am sorry you dont understand the process that we explained at the time of the purchase that you have a 3 month temporary permit in the back window, You were told at the time of purchase that the process could take up to 8 weeks to get your information to the *** and back to our store, as soon as the plates get to ** our title clerk will send you a letter stating that your plates and tags are in and you can come get them. It has been less than the 8 weeks stated, if the plates were issued on may 17th then I would guess the *** will have them in our dealer box very soon and you will receive the notice from **.  This BBB complaint is unjustified.
