I had been searching the internet for rifle barrels when I stumbled upon their site. They appeared to have the caliber I was searching for available in a longer format. Their images of finished products ONLY showed barrels which had been fluted in a couple of different ways, and they provided no option for fluting in their web page form. I attempted to make a purchase through them, because although their price was already higher than alternatives, they offered a somewhat longer barrel length which I preferred. I specified my preferred style of fluting in their provided 'Notes' section of the order form, as well as other researched information such as ideal/OEM/DPMS gas port diameter for the caliber and length of barrel, and some mathematically more optimal twist rates for higher velocity & lower mass projectiles (which it appears can range up to 1 in 15", though they only offered 1 in 10"). During the same business day (4/19), hours after I placed the order (#****), I received an email from them stating "Fluting was not selected but I see that it isn't coming up on the form. That would add $125 to the order." I checked a number of their barrel configuration pages, and saw none of them listing fluting as a separate option. I pointed out to them that this likely qualified as "Fraud in the Inducement" (more commonly ~applied as "False Advertising"), and they shortly thereafter, without my permission or request, instead of shipping the product as ordered, claim to have instead issued me a "Partial Refund" (which my bank indicates it hasn't received yet).

    Business Response

Customer requested additional work and didn't feel like he should pay for it. Order was cancelled and a full refund was issued.  Since the customer was clearly confused, they should of reached out prior to placing an order.

I am rejecting this response because:

I did not express any 'confusion', merely reasonable 'preferences' based on 1) the images shown, and 2) Features of competitor's barrels listing for >20% less (i.e. *****************************************************************************), which both have fluting >>and additional bead blasting features<< added at a significantly lower price.

As an engineer, mine were reasonable preferences expressed which a competent machine shop should be able to accomplish for insignificant extra costs (i.e. < $11 if they should somehow happen to go through an entirely new tungsten carbide end mill), if they have a correctly configured cnc lathe.

As a software developer, it's further relatively inexcusable that they wouldn't have such option added to their web forms.

    Sincerely,
