I received a email a few days ago about new activity to my credit karma account. I noticed that my credit score dropped -72 points for an active collections from Torres Credit Services! It has been active for 2 months and they even state that the type of collection issue to my credit score was Derogatory. I have never not once received a call from Torres Credit Services. I called the original creditor Southern California ****** and confirmed the bill was sold off to Torres Credit Services. So I tried calling Torres Credit Services and got no answer and I even left a voicemail stating that I would like to pay the collection entirely. I am very displeased in more of the fact that I never received a call or notice and now its impacted my credit score. I would like this removed from my credit report. I am hoping I can get this situated and receive a receipt or confirmation number of payment when they decided to answer the phone or get back to me to pay this off. Very unprofessional!

Extremely unprofessional and have a total disregard of what i was saying. I saw this derogatory account on my CBR, so I called to verify what it was. I'm an actual collection agency supervisor, so I know the proper procedure in collecting a debt of any kind. When I called I did provide my information to the representative so that she can pull my account information. Once verified she explained to me that she was calling me to collect a debt and started siting the FDCPA, and I initiated the phone call. So I proceeded to ask how long have they had this debt in the office, the representative said since July 2022and it's currently September 2022. So I asked how many call's where placed and how many letters were mailed. The rep stated there was 1 call attempted when they 1st received the account, and 1 letter mailed. I explained to the rep that I'm calling because this derogatory mark is on my CBR, and why was there only 1 attempt via phone and mail made on this account. The rep stated that I should've paid the bill before it came to their office and it never would've been reported. The only thing I was trying to get her to realize is that this would've been paid had I received more than 1 call and a letter. While trying to explain this I was interrupted so I asked to speak with a supervisor. I was transferred to probably a team lead who did the same thing, so I asked to speak with a manager. As soon as I got on the phone with a manager, I'm explaining to him that I only received 1 call and 1 letter. The manager DEREK BOWMAN told me that they have other higher priority accounts that they'll handle 1st before my $33 delinquent account. While I'm explaining to him that this could've been paid prior to it hitting my CBR as a derogatory mark, had I received more than 1 phone call. He also interrupted me and asked how do I want to proceed and if I paid it now he'll remove this account from my CBR as a courtesy. There is a lot more to this story but I only have limited space.
