    On 12/2/21 Empire Corporation was pd a deposit of 7900.00 to install a new flat roof on my mothers house. Pl note my mother passed away 11/1/21; myself and my brother (**** ***** *** **** **** **** ****** are executors of her estate. The roof Empire installed was installed by torching brie rubber which they installed over top of the original rubber roof that was already existing there. The owner Shawn G***** was there daily working on the install. The remaining balance was of 7500.00 was pd 1/5/21. Spring of '22 we had quite a bit of rain for a period of time and we started having massive leaks. AS noted in one of the attached photos this 'new' roof could be totally lifted off of the original roof, the roof Shawn put on did not adhere at all to the original roof. There was water easily coming into the house since there was not seal on the edges. We had to replaster and repaint the back bedroom. We had to tear down ceiling tile and put up a new ceiling in the room below this bedroom. We called and called Shawn, when he finally answered he said he had been in an auto accident and was recooperating some but had made 3 different appts to come out and look at it but didn't show up for any and then stopped taking our calls again. We had no choice but to hire a different contractor in June to put up a custom drip edge to hold this roof down. The leaking pretty much stopped and the house dried out. We have since found some more minor leaks and tried calling Shawn again. At this time his sister took my calls and she promised some help and again we were given two different appts and again no Shows. The nbr we had is no longer in service. We are going to have to put a whole new roof on and again spend thousands of dollars. This company should not be trusted to do any type of flat roof, they don't know what they are doing and cannot be trusted. We would appreciate getting reimbursed the 15,000 we paid this company. Photos attached of the terrible job this company did.
