  I recently contracted with **** / Constructive Design to complete a floor repair and partial renovation of a small bathroom in an apartment unit. The price was very fair. The design input was great. ********** team were absolutely fantastic. Not only did they turn up on a holiday in order to meet the deadline, but this is a borderline historic building so, of course, there were surprise obstacles, like water pipes hidden in door frames, but they stuck with it and got the job completed. Beautiful work from a great team.

  We recently hired **** and his team to finish our completely unfinished basement. He came in with a very fair quote, amazing design ideas that we hadn't even thought of, and just a personality we knew we could work with. We have worked with so many people who lack communication skills, and **** is the opposite- some could say he over communicates every detail, which we like. We hired him over other contractors mainly because of his custom ideas and style along with his quote. He did not disappoint. Some would say he only works a few hours at a time, but the amount of work he completes in a short time (and extremely well done) is amazing. He finished our basement well before we realistically expected a huge project like that to take with only one or 2 guys working at a time. From start to finish it was just under 2 months. He certainly doesn't do things in a cookie cutter way, but the end result is great. We learned early on to not question his methods and just go with it. You can tell he takes pride in his work and won't stop until you're happy. He kept adding on new ideas to make things even better and even threw in some extras for us. Our basement is now our favorite room in the house. We will definitely hire Constructive Design again for future projects.

  **** had very little time to work on multiple jobs for the sale of my home, but he finished each project, including "extras", on time. More importantly, everything was completed beyond expectations and within budget. ****'s experience and expertise was invaluable and his recommendations were spot on. He explained each process in detail and went above and beyond in every way. I will be recommending him to friends and family without reservation.

  Did a large flooring project and laundry room renovation for us and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Walt does a wonderful job explaining the process and also does superb work! Cleans up more than I’ve seen after a job as well! Great communication

  Walt did an amazing job with our home and we feel lucky to have been referred to him. Walt was very informative, explaining every step he was taking in our home construction projects. His prices were incredibly fair and he stuck to them, despite having to put some extra work in. He was kind enough to fit us into his busy schedule with short notice and once he was here, took the time to teach us a few things about painting as well as other projects that we could do ourselves around the house to help boost the appearance of our home. As if that were not enough, Walt was focused, efficient, and his work was flawless. He really appears to care about the outcome and not just getting it done. My experiences with contractors/ construction teams have not always been positive, but I cannot say enough about Walt and his team. It is rare to find someone who you really trust with your home. I would not hesitate to hire him again in the future.

  My priorities for contractors who work on my house are as follows, in the order of importance:
  1. Honesty
  2. Quality of workmanship
  3. Price
  Because Walt exceeds my expectations in the areas I value, I will continue having him work on the house I bought this year as we address remodeling in stages. I’m experienced in such projects and find Walt has excellent ideas and knowledge, along with a breadth of skills. I’m glad to have found him.

  Walt did an amazing job on our budget-friendly kitchen update! He and his crew worked diligently and fast throughout. He was always quick to respond to messages about the project as well. His pricing is incredibly fair and my kitchen looks brand new for a fraction of the cost!

  We rehired Walt after he fixed up our rental for resale. We were impressed. We hired him to do a basic remodel of our basement nothing custom. Initially things went well. Along the way he kept saying he was going to do this and that for “no additional charge” “as a gift to you” I asked to pay but he didn’t accept. The project took a lot longer than it should have because he typically only worked at our house 2-3 hours a day, and off to another job. We had to ask him to come back a few times as his work has become sloppy. I continuously had to check in and ask when the project would be finished. Very quick to ask for payment but not quick to get the work done. Lastly I reviewed our scope of work and one thing was not done- chair rail going down the basement steps. When my husband and I questioned it he said he had already done enough for free and all ready “lost money quoting our job” that that he was not going to do it. Also mentioned that other well known high end GC’s said the basement was worth 2.5x more than what he charges. Sure on his Tix tox it looks fine, up close the detail and craftsmanship is 5/10 at best. Also as if o the business owners cares that he under quoted the job. Anytime he wanted payment i was there with my check book but when I pointed out that the craftsmanship was less than idea I was the problem. I never met a business owner who told someone they were losing money on a clients job- very unprofessional. From the hand written proposal, to multiple follow ups, to taking a month over due date because other people needed their work done and other realtors needed things, and working 2/3 hours a day was just not someone we would use again for future projects. Great for a handy man and basic fixs

  So, in response to this review.
  First I’ve learned you can’t please everyone
  Though I’ve tried. I’d prefer not to speak my
  feelings about my experience with this specific customer. So I’ll keep it brief. I did the
  Best I could to give them a much better product than they wanted, and yes I did a lot of extras for free. ( Because homeowner above stated I don’t wanna spend a penny more than price we started at, but the list of extras wanted are endless and I did byte the cost. Everything from recessed lights to outlets to removing floor they purchased then didn’t like after I installed (for free)
  To me building custom barn doors for free to me hanging tvs for free to me buying a new microwave for them for free, getting a new screen door and installing for free to painting ceilings in there homes for free to hanging a ceiling fan for free to hanging a mirror for free and the list goes on.
  Only to end up being giving a 3 star rating Wow she should feel great.
  I stand behind my work all reviews before

  Can’t please everyone no matter how hard you try is what I’ve learned here.
