      A Karndean manufactured floor laid in December 2023, continues to deteriorate into the following October 2024. The Karndean Knight Tile Rigid, Honey Limed Oak SCB-KP155-6 was sold as wheel-chair tolerant. However, the planks in my kitchen have become a severe tripping hazard, curled, risen, split, pealed, shifted, separated, shredded, & edges turned bluish-green. The Installer first stated the cause was a hot spot, then it was a slab leak, then it was the floor vents, then it was rolling chairs. I paid many, many dollars to research & repair all those alleged causes. None of the repairs fixed nor stopped the kitchen floor decline. Told by other independent floor contractors the issue was caused by the improper acclimation of Karndean planks which were delivered, stacked, & stored in an unheated (40F) garage on 12/4/2023 until opened & laid on 12/13/2023 in the heated (79F) house, plus there was no moisture barrier placed.I emailed Karndean 3/23/2024, described issue, asked for advice, but received no reply; I telephoned 4/1/2024, spoke with a Karndean installer, explained issue, he said have retailer/seller open a case to determine how to proceed. Retailer recently stated claim turned in 4/24/2024; Karndean denied. Retailer has offered to replace the kitchen floor with a glued down *********************** would cover the cost of materials, but I must pay all the labor costs for removal because of what they/retailer allege as underlying issues. In good faith, I trusted Karndeans recommended retailers expertise, before, but now with hindsight, I am weary & not willing to pay any more money for their lack of attention to details; especially after Karndeans website explicit installation instructions for ACCLIMATING RESIDENTIAL RIGID PLANKS. Based on my experience I advise anyone thinking about a Karndean product to be wary/skeptical & use caution with any information & especially the recommended retailers. All I want is a properly laid kitchen floor.
