  HORRIBLE COMPANY AND PEOPLE!!! I went into a forbearance program due to having covid twice and being hospitalized. They lied to me and mislead me throughout the process. They ruined my credit even though I have been making payments. They are a collections company and really don’t care about anyone but collecting a debt. They harassed me with letters that were not factual and told me to disregard them but then used them against me anyway. Now I had to spend more money on a lawyer to sue them.

  I am very dissatisfied with Newrez. Back in July I was a victim of check fraud which required me to close my old checking account and open a new checking account. I had auto-payments set up with the old checking account. When I realized that I had not set up the auto-payment with my new checking account, I attempted to do this, which proved to be difficult. The Newrez telephone menu is ridiculous for anything but the most mundane tasks such as making a payment. Trying to resolve my issue has taken several calls with much frustration over more than two months including numerous "fees". In the meantime I receive letters saying that I need to make a payment immediately because I am past due. I have been a customer for over 12 years and never missed a payment, but Newrez treats me like I just walked in off the street. I will never recommend this company.

  I have nothing good to say about NEW REZ. They don’t even deserve a star. We applied for refinancing in August. Loan officer Sergio Navarrete offered 5.99% interest rate. We paid for a lock. LO dropped our case because his wife had a baby, our application was arbitrarily cancelled due to none of our fault, we kept calling to inquire with no response. A second loan officer took our case, transferred everything from the first application to the second one, except for the interest rate (even though we paid for it and it was still within time frame) kept playing games with us for about ten days until I got tired and accepted the new interest rate just to move one with the process. On 10/03 we were told by Loan Officer Andres Ponce that our loan was approved with condition, never told us what the conditions were, only to be told on 10/06 that our loan wasn’t approved. So we lost money and time on this. This company is a total crap! They don’t communicate in a timely manner, play with your time, total lack of respect to customers. I don’t recommend doing business with them.

  STOP WITH THE JUNK MAIL!!!!!!
  I’ve tried to submit a “contact us” message to remove me from ALL MAILINGS multiple times! But I keep getting an error message when I try to submit.
  They keep sending refinance junk mail almost weekly! They sold my mortgage and now want me to refinance at double my current rate!
  What is it with this company, they clearly need to get there act together!

  This company has mishandled every aspect of our veterans tax exception from day one. The processing has taken well over 3 months, even with extensive documentation submitted to this company. I have called weekly for months and am no closer to having resolution of this matter. Every time I call in I get a different run around with different information. Recently it was brought to my attention that newrez had an incorrect parcel ID attached to our account. With this new information I was assured things would be corrected immediately and this process would be expedited as well as a manager would be in touch with me. I was given a date of completion of October 5th. TO DATE I HAVE NEVER HEARD BACK FROM A MANAGER. As of Today I was told it could take an additional 30 days for anything to be processed.

  Was busy with my refinance, which was approved but then they figured out they were in non-compliance with NC closing costs requirements and could not reduce my costs as initially promised. Been trying to connect with the loan office, his manager and the customer advocacy team - radio silence!!!!!

  I read all these and thought, wow, this was not my experience, thank God.
  For me, my refi went really smoothly. I got a call back the same day I asked for a quote and things were expedited for me nicely. The closing was at our house last week and the check was in my account 3 days later.

  Of the many mortgage companies I have used Newrez is by far the worst. I waited more than a month for them to complete and send simple paperwork. When paying off my loan they were incredibly unhelpful and their operating procedures and red tape took forever. Avoid this company.
