    Subject: Complaint Against Laborly LLC for Unfulfilled Contract and Refusal to Refund Deposit Details of the complaint:In May 2024, I, Panini *********, sought a contractor to remodel my bathroom using the Thumbtack platform. Through this tool, I identified "Laborly LLC," operated by **** ****, as a potential contractor. Following initial discussions, **** visited my home to assess the site, took necessary measurements, and provided an estimate of $11,000 for labor only. As per the agreement, I was to supply all materials.On May 21, 2024, we signed an agreement to complete the bathroom remodel project by November 2024. **** offered a winter discount, citing that fewer clients pursue remodels during that period. I paid an initial deposit of $1,100 to secure his services.Starting in September, I repeatedly reached out to **** for updates on the project timeline. Initially, he was unresponsive, and after several attempts, he provided a series of shifting timelines: first late October, then mid-November, then late November, and finally, after Christmas. These repeated delays raised concerns about his reliability and intentions.When I requested a refund of my $1,100 deposit due to the delays and lack of progress, **** refused and instead proposed a dispute resolution amount of $270.42. He included an invoice for $829.58, which I found unjustified. While **** did visit my home for the initial assessment and provided a material list, no design work was completed, and I personally ordered all materials. The hours billed do not align with the minimal work he ************ resolve the issue amicably, I offered to let **** retain $400 for his time and refund the remaining $700. Despite this compromise, **** ceased communication again. I am now left with a garage full of materials, a bathroom in disrepair, and a loss of $1,100 of my family's hard-earned money.

    I am writing to inform you that the contractor (**** ****) has responded to the resolution process and settled the matter as per agreement by December 31st, 2024. With the issue resolved, I kindly request that the dispute resolution case be officially closed and marked as resolved in your records.
