On Friday, April 25, 2025, I picked up my 2001 Blazer. I paid $5,689.45 (RO# ******) for the work that they had done. They performed a vehicle inspection, replaced the trans cooler lines, replaced serpentine belt, replaced upper control arms, did a 4-wheel alignment, replaced spark plugs and the wires, replaced oil pan gasket, put 4 new tires on (& balanced them), installed new differential (twice due to manufacture issue), and installed air injection pump. Sunday, April 27, 2025, I needed it towed because the front end locked up. I found out that the oil was 1 1/2 qts low, there were zip ties holding the rock shield up, every bolt holding the transmission pan was loose, the gas strap bolt was loose, the 4-wheel drive actuator was disconnected, there was no oil in the front pumpkin, and they put Loctite on the bolts so the front pumpkin oil couldn't be checked. I also found damage on the rims, the lug nuts were all loose on all 4 tires, and a new scratch on the side of the car that weren't there when the vehicle was dropped off on Friday, March 14, 2025, and the oil pan still leaks. When I reached out to them about this issue, they wanted the vehicle back but I can't trust them to do any more work with all the damage they did to it.

I had a 2015 Chevy Sonic with only 42,000 miles on it and started having trouble with the heater last July 2023. I took it in and Sun Chevrolet worked on my heater and said everything was fine. 2 days later the heater was acting up and everytime I went to back up the car it would start jumping on me like it wanted to stall and the check engine light kept coming on. I told it back in and they looked at it again and said I needed a new battery which I didn't think I did and I told them that and the service manager said he would check the date on the battery that they took out to see how old it really was however, he called me back and said the battery was already sent out for destroying and said everything was good. After that my check engine light came on and stayed on, I had to have my car towed and that cost me $318.00 from Hertz plus $100.00 for towing from Triple A because it was 20 miles from where I broke down to Sun Chevrolet. Once again they checked it and did a few things to it and said it was fine. The 5th time I took it in was because the same thing was going on plus it smelt like something burning and I refused to rent a car again so they gave me one of their cars and kept my car for about 9 days (that was at Christmas Time) and when I got it back they said hopefully everything was fine. The 8th time I took my car in they said they would have to send a part out and that would cost at least $700.00 and I finally told them after I gave them $3,500.00 all together up to that point that I would get rid of the car. They then told me my car was worth $500.00. I am upset because I gave them $3,500.00 and still had to get rid of my car because it was never fixed properly. I feel I was taken advantage of because I am a woman and I gave them all that money and they told me that my car was only worth $500.00 at that time. I have all my paperwork showing what they did everytime I took it in but am really upset because I gave them all that money $3,500.00 and had to go out a get a new car.

      Business Response

      Date: 05/17/2024

We are in receipt of your letter dated May 8, 2024, but have
no record of any previous communications.
The customer had previously been in discussion with our management team
concerning their vehicle in which we had made accommodations to come to a
remedy for the concerns. The discussion was directed more towards a
communication request with General Motors as they were upset that the vehicle
engine was having issues with lower mileage, even though the vehicle was 8
years old. We facilitated the conversation with an agent from GM, as they were
seemingly happy with how we were handling the repair but wasn’t happy that the
engine would need this type of work and that the manufacturer should provide
      more help.
The customer paid a total out of pocket for the repairs in
the amount of $1954.59 on three work orders. We had provided a price reduction and
warranty assistance on those repairs in accordance with their request for
assistance, although the vehicle was outside the parameters of her warranty
coverage. The last repair we were able to cover in the amount of $339.90 and
that amount was not charged to the customer. We also provided a loaner vehicle
to the customer from December 19th when the car was towed in from
the most recent repair, until December 27, 2024. The customer also had other
maintenance services completed in that time frame including state inspection,
oil change and service for a leaking tire. The customer additionally had work
performed by family members in between visits to our dealership, which we
cannot control.  We provided a courtesy
diagnostic visit most recently in March 2024 per the customer’s request to
evaluate the condition of the vehicle’s engine leak concern, again performed at
      no charge.
The customer was advised that there were more serious
concerns with the engine throughout these repairs, but we attempted to keep the
expense to a minimum to avoid a larger billing upon their request.
