GroundScape pursued our business via multiple phone calls and follow ups. They clearly explained that the less expensive method would still yield full grass coverage, but would appear less perfect because of the lack of full grooming and stick and rock removal. They also send this in an email, which is attached. They said that the downside would be that it would take slightly longer for the grass to come in. We accepted those limitations. They then chose to send their crew to our farm on the windiest day of 2023 with gusts up to 60 miles per hour. They scraped the ground creating smooth, flat, and compressed dirt. They then hand spread loose seed. They then suggested that I either roll or water the ground out of concern for the wind, which I did. They said they were sending someone back to spread more seed the next day, which also had 50-60 mph wind gusts. I do not not know if they came. The wind was so strong that we had the property closed for riding. The majority of the seed blew away. This was clearly evident to multiple people who inspected it and can be seen in photographs. During the first day their crew was here, the owner of GroundScape contacted me to make sure that I paid for the services in full, before I had any understanding that the work was not done responsibly. It was their role to plan the job on days that were not extraordinarily windy. It was also their responsibility to correct the mistakes made by their crew. Our of desperation to get grass, we even offered to pay more for them to return to improve the quality of their work and they said they would be back. They never came back and stopped returning our phone calls and emails. When we spoke last, the owner attempted to blame the mistake on me. Ultimately, we hired a farmer to reseed the areas he could access with his equipment. The only grass that we have is in clear rows were our farmer seeded with his large machine. We paid GroundScape $2,965 and they only grass we have is where they put straw matting down, which was a small area.
