Norman made mistakes on my deceased father's 2019 taxes, twice, when I took them to him for filing, and he has refused to help fix the matter. I contacted him in 2021 and again in 2022 for clarification and help with the issue after the IRS made contact with me in regards to the mistakes. In 2021 when I contacted him, he did not ask for a copy of anything to review it, but told me to re-send the IRS the SAME identical information that was already filed, and told me that I paid what I was supposed to pay and to not worry about it because the IRS would figure it out. On October 4, 2022, I spoke with him again and told him that the IRS is still sending me letters saying that $63,000 is owed. Again, he told me not to worry about it and that the IRS would figure it out. After I pressed him about this, he then said that I should "scratch out" my dad's SS# and write in the estate # to rectify the issue and send it back to the IRS. I went to an attorney for advice, and I ended up going to another accountant who looked at the 2019 tax filings and figured out that major mistakes were made, mostly on the federal filing but also the local. The accountant, ****, reached out to Norman but he would not help. Since he would not file another amended return, I had to pay **** $275 for her to take the time to research the problem, and to amend and refile the taxes for me. I also spent $11 to ship the newly amended return to the IRS. I spent weeks and months worrying and having anxiety over this issue that could have easily been resolved by him in 2021, when I first went to him with the problem. Or, if he had filed the taxes correctly the first time in 2019. I would like to be reimbursed the $275 , $11, and also what I paid him to file the taxes in 2019. With an already stressful situation of filing taxes for your father who passed away, this made the matter even more upsetting to have it drawn out and having threats from the IRS sent to me.
