1 starThe Worst place to live. Horrible customer Service. Not a safe place to live and they try to force you into signing contracts to extent your lease when you've given the appropriate leaving dates per their contracts. Lots of violence, illegal activities and they don't take care of their property. The 1 star was chosen only because I had to select at least 1 to post this review. No stars deserved and should be an option. Beware before rentingReview fromBrooke M

STAY AWAY FROM ***************************!!! They are incredibly unsafe (4 murders alone during a single resident's lease) They leave residents with disabilities and elderly residents without heat for days In January and AC for well over a week on numerous occasions in the ******* heat causing multiple medical emergencies within a week for one resident with a disability and refusing to allow said resident to move without thousands and thousands of dollars in penalties even though their neglect has put said residents life in danger in numbers occasions. I hope you don't need to actually receive your mail or packages because the mailboxes are not secure and items are stolen directly from mailboxes and I was told directly from the property manager that they are aware of the theft's and are aware the cameras don't work. There are too many beautiful and safe options in our area to put your family in danger there. They DO NOT care about their residents health, safety or wellbeing!Independence Realty Trust, Inc

I am not one to ever do this and complain. I have just moved into one of the IRT Living complex **** ******* Lake Apartments in Dec 2022. I have put in a few work orders regarding my air conditioning not working. I put it in early when I realized that our air was not working on a few hot days in Feb 2023. The first time someone came out they came and looked at it said they will be back and this is after waiting almost month after my first work order was put in and calling several times. Then he never came back and closed the work order. I immediately put another one in and called a few times before I got an answer to let them know what happened. I called several times and left a few messages at no call back. Finally the same tech came back and had to over a few days, even had to take work off for this to ensure it gets fixed. He stated a electrician will need to come out it is not connecting to the outside unit and would need to speak to his supervisor. I let him know I will be home working the next 3 days and by Friday no one reached out and called the tech and he stated he will talk to his supervisor again and the electrician will be here Monday and let him know I will be here all day. Monday came and went no answer no follow up no conclusion on when someone will be out here. I then again called several times. leaving a msg on office line and emergency line with no call back again. My husband has congestive heart failure and kidney failure. He just got out of the hospital again for the 3 time a few weeks ago. I was trying to get this done early so that it is fixed before it is so hot here in GA you can not stand it. I have been very patient, considerate and kind. I have gave plenty of time to get this fixed on their time. I have only been here 4 months and have paid Rent every month on time and still nothing. Yesterday it was 90 degrees, 80 in apartment and today even hotter and its 9am in the morning and almost 85 in the apartment. Unacceptable. Horrible.Independence Realty Trust, Inc

Since this company has taken over the apartment complex has gone downhill and they hire incompetent people. I literally have to argue with the people in the leasing office about my townhouse and what is going on around me. They do not fix any issues or care about any concerns. A very rude boy by the name of ****** or ***** (they didn't want to give me his name) tried telling me how no one has assigned parking at the Residence and I explained to him multiple times that everyone that is leasing ************** has two parking spaces and he kept going back and forth with me until the manager sent him a message explaining that we do indeed have parking spaces that are exclusively ours. But not once did that lady get up and intervene until I raised my voice because her worker was raising his voice at me. I explained to her that it's not ok that she allows him to speak to people this way. And she should have stepped in sooner. I had a simple complaint about people parking in my spot, that turned into me a woman feeling threaten by a man that works where I live. IRT doesn't care about its residents or their well being. They just want the money and see us as dollar signs. I'm counting down the days that this lease is over. I wouldn't recommend ever leasing from this company.Independence Realty Trust, Inc

Worst property management ever. We lived on other properties before and it was so much better. I don't know if it's the lack of experience, as they promote anyone, even those with no experience or just that those in IRT don't care.Independence Realty Trust, Inc

Since IRT has taken over the apartments for Park Valley has went down hill. The gates has been broken for a year and the fitness center has been close for 2 months. There are no amenities the laundry room is not clean and the Washer and Dryers do not work. Steadfast was a better company and they made sure they was on top of things. This place wants you to pay all this money and u get nothing. They need to do better it is so many people moving from this place.Independence Realty Trust, Inc

1 starI moved into this apartment complex January of 2020. Initially I had no issues but year after year the neighborhood has become increasingly more dangerous (several shootings and a murder) which I do not blame management for but there has also been increasing problems with maintenance, responsiveness, professionalism and just over-all care for tenets from the office. I have issues with my rent every single month with no help from the office. I'm constantly told "I don't know" and "We can't do that". Most of 2022 my rent had to be paid via money order. While visiting family in Virginia, I had to mail a money order which they waited almost 3 weeks to post to my account and remove the late fee. I hit some financially issues in December and my church kindly offered to pay for my rent that month. My pastor had to personally drive to office and practically beg them to pay my rent. The hoops they have you jump through to pay on time is ridiculous!! Most recently I mistakingly made a double payment. I asked the office to cancel one of the payments to which I was told "I do not have access to cancel a payment. I do not have access to anything to do with payments. You will have to cancel it through your bank." Where is the professionalism?! After doing so I received a returned check fee from management and no longer have access to make payments online. When I reached out about this I was told "We will not e ale to except Fe rent unless the amount is what is owed." No that was not an error. This is what was sent to me by a place of business!! I've also had issues with maintenance. It took them 5 tries to fix my heat to which one of those emergency calls was never answered. The valet trash is occasionally picked up and there's consistently a heaping pile of trash at the front of the neighborhood. If I had the financial means to move out of this place immediately, I would. I've never had a more stressful and terrible experience. I HIGHLY recommend anywhere else!Review fromAllegra W.

1 starI am a current resident with this property and I regret moving here whole heartedly. The property staff does not answer the phone, nor respond to emails. I've even physically went to the leasing office multiple times and I've just been getting the run around. I moved into my unit Oct. 15th 2022 and was provided with no heat for 3 months. It took almost 3 months for the management to even fix the heat in my unit. After finally speaking with the property manager last month the property agreed to taking a certain amount off of my rent due to the poor inconvenience. As of today January 12, 2023 my charges have yet to fixed and updated. Not to mention almost the whole property flooded the day of Christmas Eve. So my unit is not fixed from that as well, and I haven't received any type of communication of when my unit will be back in a living condition. I have not been able to live in my unit since my move in date and its been a battle for trying to get answers and a solution. I've been being very patient and understanding but this is beyond unprofessional. I feel that I should not have to owe anything with the fact that I am newly resident who was without heat for months and then for the flood to happen 2 weeks after they finally fixed my heat in my unit is just very overwhelming. I am very fed up with this complex and the poor management. They do not care about their residents at all. I am getting an attorney. Please refrain from moving here. It's not the worth stress.Review fromArleen P

We loved living in our 1 bedroom apartment at ********* in ********, ******* and had such an amazing leasing consultant that helped us move in super smooth about a year and a half ago but sadly she no longer works there and advanced to higher & better opportunities in the field (the best ones never stay as they say). Wrote a 5 star review a few months after we moved in on ****** and we were so pleased and loved the complex. Once ********* went under a new management called IRT living, the complex has honestly gone down hill. Leasing consultants that are working there now (Nov 2022) seem unprofessional and honestly seem clueless. Most questions end up with one of the managers, I believe named Pri. We terminated our lease 4 months early due to multiple reasons (tired of renting, prices are too high, bad management of complex). Very long story short, when we moved out; we were charged double of what they specifically said we would be charged. We had no damage in the apartment but was charged a $20 fee for a little grease in the oven. Having to get in touch with IRT living corporate company because no one in the leasing office can answer our question and cannot explain any type of fees is frustrating, especially when its very difficult to get in touch with corporate themselves. It was very difficult to get in touch with *******************, one of the resident account specialist for *********. I was appointed her contact and was not able to get in touch with through phone and sent a few emails to her with one response that did not answer my specific question stated in the email. Overall, the new management of the complex provides low quality service and has staff that only seem to care for new future residents and getting them to sign a lease rather than current residents that have concerns about their lease/apartment.Independence Realty Trust, Inc

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate all feedback, both positive and negative, so that we may grow as a team and as a company. First, our apologies for the inconveniences that you have experienced during your tenure at our property. We strive to not only meet but to exceed our residents expectations of customer service. With that in mind, we will express your concerns with the on-site staff to hopefully alleviate this type of complaint in the future. Additionally, we will reiterate our policies as it relates to move-out procedures, pricing, and escalation of issues to the appropriate parties. IRT is structured in a way that part of staff does work remotely (not on-site) and the best method(s) to reach them is via email. We will make sure that the lack of follow-up is addressed to all parties to help ensure that questions are answered within a timely fashion moving forward. If you have any additional questions or concerns as it relates to your move-out statement, please feel free to contact the Community Manager directly. They will work with the appropriate persons to provide the necessary explanations you are requesting. Again, thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you choosing our property as your home, and wish you all the best in the future.
