On or before 08/20/2020 I purchased a basket from Aramark to be delivered to my nephew who is in ************** County Jail. I believed they had delivered this care package to him. To this date they have not delivered and now are telling me they will not be delivering this package nor can I get a refund due to their policy. I don’t want a refund I want my nephew to get the package I paid for. I have rec’d information that other inmates have not been receiving their packages as well. I’m worried they are not delivering what they are paid for and just keeping $$ and using their policy as an excuse.Business Response

Dear *** *******,
I am responding on behalf of Aramark Correctional Services, LLC (“Aramark”) to the correspondence submitted to the Better Business Bureau (“BBB”) by ***** *****, Complaint ID #********, dated January 23, 2023. After careful consideration of *** *****’s complaint, Aramark would like to provide the below response.
Understandably there may be challenges with delivering iCare packages to incarcerated individuals, given the security and strict rules at correctional facilities, which are outside of Aramark’s control, and which may frustrate delivery of loved ones’ packages. Aramark always strives to deliver iCare packages in a quick and efficient manner; however, we are ultimately subject to each facility’s delivery policies.
We truly value our customers’ trust and confidence in us, and we endeavor to promptly resolve any concerns. In the event a loved one does not receive their iCare package in a timely fashion, Aramark encourages customers to contact our iCare Support Team, which is available from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. E.T., seven (7) days a week. For questions regarding refunds, please refer to Aramark’s iCare refund policy, which is available at the time of purchase and published at: ****************
Thank you for your time and attention to these matters. Should you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at ###-###-#### and **************@aramark.com.
Sincerely,
******* ** ******, Esq.

I have been using Aramark for towel and bathroom service for about 18 months. In December of 2022, they stopped coming to my business and providing service. Have not had towels picked up, dropped off or any bathroom service since the end of November. I have texted the driver to no avail. I have called and logged multiple cases with Aramark, case # *******, my account is *********, ********************* *************** ************ FOLSOM CA ********. Each time I do, the rep tells me that a local manager has to contact me in order to resolve. I have asked for my service to be discontinued and to stop sending me invoices for services not performed. I never get an email or phone call. This has gone on for 6 weeks and I have called 4 times. Recently was given the local depot phone number to call, ************. No one answers at the Depot. I get weekly invoices for service that is not performed. i need help resolving this issue asap. Thank you.Initial Complaint

From 3/4/22 through current, 1/17/23, we have been trying to get our over paid account balance sent back to us. We have called multiple times per month and each new call we are left re-explaining our account credit balance that we want returned and rightfully so. The same answers are given over and over including being told that supervisors are unavailable, a request has been submitted, notes are missing on the account so the ongoing pain and history isn't recorded on their end, supposedly. Sometimes we are given case numbers but never see resolution and closeout. I was just told that there were no open cases on the account but I have yet another case number from last week's attempt. There is a $500 minimum order of refreshments each month per the contract but almost every month Aramark is out of numerous refreshment options available to even reach $500 minimum. They deliver only what is in stock with no warning or chance for us to choose other options, then they bill a penalty fee for not meeting the $500 requirement, as if we had any choice in the matter.Business Response

We have had multiple issues with Aramark over the past 2 years and they have just gotten worst. This issue takes the cake though. They are charging our company "Loss Charges" for uniforms that we had turned in on top of that they are charging us loss charges for employees that still work here. I have asked for someone to reach out to me and I have received 0 correspondence from anyone at Aramark. Each one of these "Loss Charges" is $500+ added to our bill.Initial Complaint

We cancelled uniform service August 9, 2022 due to failure to deliver rented items, failure to deliver weekly. This was done over the phone with customer service and also varified with the delivery man that finally showed up We were billed through September 2022. We made a payment that they processed through the bank in September but still have not credited our account. They also have not applied the credit the manager has repeatedly told us were issued. I have documentation of my communications To date we were receiving past due billings when to my calculation I believe they owe us a refund. We never had a contract with this company, we were a customer since 11/3/2020. Any assistance you can provide to resolve is appreciated, if not, please not a formal complaint on this business. I have also left 2 on line reviews.Initial Complaint

Our business stopped service from Aramark after three years on 2/7/22. We continued to be charged for service until 4/30/22. I finally received a final statement in mid-May that included invoices already paid, invoices after we had stopped service, and an exorbitant amount for, I was later to find, "missing uniforms" (charged at new cost despite 3 years of usage and nowhere near the correct count). I started receiving calls sometime after. I tried returning calls but could never get through and left messages or the phone would ring one time, beep, and hang up. Finally at the beginning of September I began documenting my calls and emails to them. Since then, I have emailed 5 times with specific explanations about the mistakes in the amount owed in response to emails demanding payment (the response was NOT to noreply email accounts). I have not received a response to an email (none) or phone messages I left. On 11/6/22 I received a statement with a total due of $0. I assumed that they had taken my explanation, and we owed them nothing. On 11/23/22 I received a letter from a Credit Collection company with a balance due. I called them and tried to explain that the amount due was incorrect and was told it was too late to talk about that and that I'd better pay now, or with interest and penalties, the amount would eventually be much greater. I called a different number (I never got through to the number given in messages to me), for Aramark, and to date I have talked to 3 different reps, all said there was nothing they could do because our account was locked. All said they would refer the info to someone else, and maybe they could help. I have heard back from no one. I have also responded to the emails, again. Nothing. I have no problem paying what I owe, some uniforms were missing, but I refuse to pay an incorrect amount.Initial Complaint

We had the Aramark service to change the mats and for restroom service. We found out later that the company was simply sending us just the invoices but never provide us any service for the month of March and April 2022. On top it, they also charged us for Mats they never provided us. We explained them and they mentioned their service guy will start coming, but no one ever showed up. Later we talked to the District Manager and we cancelled with them because of poor customer service. District Manager mentioned he submitted for credit on May 16th but still this day we are following up for refund, it's almost end of the year, never received the refund of total $ 750.Customer Answer

I was told per contract that I must pay for rental regardless of whether I received service or not. On one service date we received ONE pair of pants. No shirts, rugs, rags or first aide cabinet replenishing. When that invoice was not paid I was told that "you are paying for the rental of the uniforms." I was then threatened with collection as well as paying third party collections. This sounds like extortion to me. This is how they treat a customer that has doing business with them since 1978. My employees have had to wash their own uniforms on numerous occasions as well.Initial Complaint
