If I could give a negative 5 stars I would. My family and I went to rent a boat here today. An older woman who claimed that she was the owner, was the rudest, nastiest and meanest human being I have ever met. Every word she said, was said in the meanest manner possible. No hello. No smile. She was the only person working. She clearly didn't want to rent a boat. She clearly hates people. She asked how many people, we said 8 and a 18 month old baby. She snarls at us that even if the baby is 1 day old, she counts as an adult. I said we were only saying her age to make sure you have a small enough lifejacket. She snarls, I have hundreds of life jackets. Then she tells us she needs a $100 cash deposit. We said fine. Then she said the water was choppy and we probably didn't want to go out. (It was not very choppy). We told her we have rented boats numerous times. Then she said there is a two hour minimum. We said that was fine, two hours was what we wanted. Then she snarls "if you are even 1 minute late you will be charged another hour," we said fine. Then she said there will be a refueling charge, tax, etc. We said fine, what is the full price? She would not tell us." Then she screamed that our twelve year old granddaughter was not allowed to stand by the water. Then she said that she and that boy, (our 11 year old grandson), have to wear a life jacket at all times. We said they would. We asked again what is the total. Not telling us. We did not rent a boat. We will NEVER rent a boat there.

The owner here needs to hang up her hat, call it a day, and retire already. We were simply asking basic questions about the boat rental process with the lovely teenage girl who works there when we realized that there are a lot of rules, and pricing isn't as marked on the site. There are hand-written updates, amendments and notes scribbled and posted all over the place. The owner came over while we were having a completely normal and pleasant conversation with her staff (who is clearly terrorized, and mortified by the owners behaviour) and started off the conversation with us in a very nasty, angry, argumentative, aggressive and downright rude manner. She started basically yelling at us about how she's not in a position to have us argue her rules. We weren't doing that, we were just calmly asking questions about some clear discrepancies and some strange, strict rules. We're from out of state and didn't know anything about where the launch is. We were in a group where 3 of us had kayaks and 1 didn't. You're not allowed to launch together, and they can't tell you where the next launch is. After looking it up on a map, we realized that one of us would be kayaking for a VERY long time before we could meet up with the others, to the point that it didn't make sense to proceed. Although the rules don't make much sense, the main issue here is the owner and her HORRIBLE ATTITUDE. She was downright mean, and for no reason. She doesn't kayak, and doesn't know how to run a business either. This business was an absolutely HORRIFIC representative for the state of ************ and it's really unacceptable for a state park venue.

The goodsstaff was for the most part nice and the 20 foot pontoon boat we rented worked fine. The badsthe website that lists the prices is incorrect. Upon checking in we were never presented with a price list so we assumed the prices on the website were correct. The price listed on the website for an all day rental for a 20 foot pontoon is $381. When we went to pay for the rental at the end of the day, we were charged $598.90!!! When we tried to point out the price discrepancy, the owner of Crescent Bay Boat Rental started throwing a fit that the website isnt updated because she cant get a hold of her ***********, and that her husband just died last year, and shes still figuring out how to run things, and that its our fault for not noticing that the prices on the website are from 2021! Very drawn out and very dramatic.
